What Viscera’s “first appearance in 16 years” meant
A May 29, 2025 report by Josh Coulson said Viscera had been added to WWE Champions and described it as his first WWE game appearance since WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. That phrasing referred to a character appearing in a WWE-branded game after a long gap; it did not announce a return to the WWE 2K series. The Sportster report

Two different games, two different rosters
WWE Champions is a mobile game, whereas WWE 2K is the mainline console and PC wrestling series. The report says WWE Champions is not developed by 2K. A character appearing in the mobile title is therefore not evidence that 2K has licensed, modeled, or announced that character for a particular WWE 2K roster.

What fans asked for—and what was actually confirmed
The story reported fan requests for Viscera in WWE 2K26, including one post saying, “He deserves to be in WWE 2K26 as well, bring him back to the series.” Fans also raised King Mabel and Big Daddy V variations and floated a Ministry of Darkness Showcase. What 2K has said about WWE 2K26
In its March 6, 2026 announcement, 2K described WWE 2K26 as having “over 400 playable characters” and listed PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam as platforms. The roster examples in that announcement do not name Viscera, but examples are not a complete roster list. The announcement alone cannot establish that he is unavailable across every roster update or post-launch release. 2K’s announcement

Is Viscera playable in WWE 2K26?
The evidence here does not confirm Viscera as a playable WWE 2K26 character, and it does not justify claiming he is definitively absent from the full current roster or every post-launch update. The precise answer is that his WWE Champions appearance sparked hopes for a 2K return, but it was never confirmation of one. A third-party WWE Champions roster reference lists a Ministry of Darkness version of Viscera in that mobile game; that listing concerns WWE Champions, not WWE 2K26.
