Notebookcheck reported the release on October 8, 2026. It came weeks after Denuvo GmbH sued the handle in a U.S. federal court, and while the company was asking a court for permission to subpoena platforms to learn who is behind it. The release, the lawsuit’s allegations, and the pending court request are separate matters, and each has a different status.
What was reported about Atomfall
Notebookcheck’s October 8, 2026 report says voices38 released a crack that removes the Denuvo protection from Atomfall. The report is secondhand. The coverage available as of that date does not include independent testing of the crack, so how it works and how well it works are unverified. The reporting also does not establish a specific technical method for this release, so no method should be attributed to it.

Why Denuvo matters in this story
Denuvo is an anti-tamper technology that publishers add to games to make them harder to copy and modify. Because it is built into the game files and the way the game runs, a crack has to get past it before the game can run without it. That is why a Denuvo removal is treated as news: it is the protection that many publishers rely on for their most expensive releases.

In the October 6 report, Valve and Reddit reportedly cited their privacy policies and said they would not provide information without legal backing. Discord had not replied. The court’s decision on whether the subpoenas can issue is the next procedural step. Nothing in the reporting shows that the subpoenas have been granted or that the defendant has been identified.

What the lawsuit alleges
The complaint, as TorrentFreak described it, alleges violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act’s anti-circumvention provisions. It concerns alleged circumvention involving 26 games, and it asks for damages and an injunction. The number 26 is a count from the complaint, attributed to Denuvo; it is not a finding by a court or an independent audit.
The subpoena request is narrower. Denuvo wants platform account information to learn who is using the handle. Reporting that describes the company’s theories about the defendant’s identity should be read as the company’s position. None of it has been confirmed by a court or by independent evidence.

Does the lawsuit explain the timing of the release?
The reporting does not show whether the lawsuit changed how often voices38 releases cracks, and it does not show whether the lawsuit caused or failed to cause the Atomfall release. Treating the lawsuit as a cause would go beyond what the coverage establishes.
Two different kinds of “crack”
The word “crack” covers different technical approaches. Two are relevant to this story, and the reporting does not say which one the Atomfall release uses.

Two other distinctions help when reading coverage of this story. The first is between removing a protection and bypassing its checks. The second is between a company’s allegation and a court’s finding. The reporting supports only the second item as a statement about the lawsuit: it is an allegation, not a ruling.

This is a statement from an anonymous handle. It does not confirm that the handle’s activity is unaffected by the lawsuit, and it should not be read as independent evidence of anything.
What to watch next
- Whether the judge rules on Denuvo’s request to subpoena Discord, Valve, and Reddit.
- Whether Discord responds to the subpoena request, since the October 6 report said it had not replied.
- Any court order that follows, which would change the legal status of the allegations.
- Independent technical reporting on the Atomfall crack that identifies its method.
- Any reporting that names the defendant. Until a court or the platforms provide information, identity should be treated as unknown.
Each of these items would change the story in a different way, so it is worth tracking them separately rather than assuming the lawsuit and the crack are linked.
