If you’ve finished today’s New York Times Pips puzzle and want to keep playing, independent sites advertise unlimited Pips-style boards for extra practice. They are separate services—not ways to unlock more official NYT puzzles—and the New York Times daily-limit claim should be checked against current subscription terms.
Does NYT Premium unlock unlimited Pips puzzles?
An August 21, 2025 article about NYT Pips says the game offers one puzzle per day, including for Premium subscribers. That access limit could not be independently confirmed against current NYT subscription terms, so check the official Pips page and your account’s current benefits before relying on it. Premium should not be assumed to provide unlimited boards.
If you have already completed the day’s official puzzle, the alternatives below offer more play—but their puzzles and features belong to independent services, not the New York Times.

Start with what you want after the official daily challenge: more generated practice, a familiar daily routine, extra help solving, or play away from a connection. Compare the details that matter to you:
- Puzzle source: These sites are independent. Do not expect their boards or archives to reproduce NYT puzzles or answers.
- Difficulty: PipsPlay and PipsGames advertise difficulty options; check each site’s current controls before choosing.
- Hints and solving help: PipsPlay and Pips2 advertise hints, while PipsPlay also advertises a solver.
- Accounts and progress: PipsGames says no account is required. PipsPlay says it saves progress in the current browser when local storage is available, but does not sync across devices.
- Phone and offline play: PipsGames describes its browser game as mobile-responsive. Pips2 advertises an iPhone app with offline play; its site lists iOS 17 or later as a requirement.
What makes a puzzle Pips-style?
Pips is a domino-placement logic puzzle: cover the board with the available dominoes while satisfying the clue for every colored region. A clue can require an exact total, matching values, different values, or an inequality. The halves of a domino can occupy different regions, and each half is judged by the rule for the cell it covers. PipsPlay describes its pieces as having values from zero to six.

For a non-digital analogue, a standard double-six domino set can provide materials for inventing placement challenges, but it does not unlock NYT Pips or supply an online puzzle feed.
