Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is an upcoming Windows PC real-time strategy game from KING Art Games and Deep Silver. The current release date is December 3, 2026, and the reveal promises a return to large battles and base-building, with four playable factions: Blood Ravens Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and Adeptus Mechanicus.

What is Dawn of War IV?

Dawn of War IV is a new entry in the Warhammer 40,000 real-time strategy series. Warhammer Community’s official announcement describes it as a return to mass battles and base-building, alongside an expanded Sync Kill system. Those are the developers’ stated design goals, not a hands-on assessment of how the finished game plays.

Deep Silver is publishing the game, which is being developed by KING Art Games. The publisher says it will release on Windows PC through Steam.

When does Dawn of War IV release?

The current launch date is December 3, 2026, according to the Deep Silver FAQ and the Steam listing. Steam lists Commander Edition advance access beginning November 30, three days before the standard launch.

Some earlier official coverage gave a September 17, 2026 release date. That date was superseded: an official Steam announcement dated August 12 said the launch had moved to December 3.

What factions are in Dawn of War IV?

The official reveal names four playable factions:

  • Blood Ravens Space Marines
  • Orks
  • Necrons
  • Adeptus Mechanicus

The Warhammer Community reveal identifies Adeptus Mechanicus as making its Dawn of War debut. Deep Silver says the game will have four faction campaigns, each mechanically distinct, that feed into one overarching story.

What modes and campaign content are included?

Deep Silver lists competitive multiplayer, Last Stand, and Skirmish alongside the campaigns. Its FAQ says many modes support both solo and cooperative play; it does not say every mode has both options. Steam describes the campaign as spanning more than 70 missions. That is a figure from the game’s product listing, not an independently measured count.

Which editions are listed, and what does Commander Edition include?

Steam lists Standard and Commander editions. The store page describes Commander Edition as including the base game, the Year 1 Expansion, and three days of advance access. Prices and discounts vary by region and can change; check Steam for the current offer in your location.

What languages and PC requirements are listed?

Deep Silver lists English full audio. Interface and subtitles are listed in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, Korean, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Steam’s listing did not provide complete PC system requirements as of October 8, 2026. Check the live store page before deciding whether your computer meets the requirements; a minimum or recommended configuration cannot be confirmed from the available listing.
