Choose a character in Warhammer Survivors for the starting weapon and stats that suit your approach, then build the rest of the run around the weapons and power-ups offered as you earn experience. No official source currently establishes a strongest character or proven optimal build, so a reliable guide is a way to evaluate your options—not a tier list.
What character choice changes
The developer says each character has unique weapons and starting stats, and that no two survivors play the same. That makes the opening kit the useful basis for comparing characters; it does not, by itself, show that one is objectively stronger.

The announced game draws on both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Warhammer Community describes a roster of over 40 playable characters and more than 70 weapons. How to compare characters
- Look at the starting weapon. Check what the character begins with and whether its apparent style appeals to you. The official character page confirms weapons differ, but does not publish enough detail here to prescribe a specific weapon or declare a winner.
- Compare starting stats. Note the differences shown in the game and consider which ones fit how you want to play. The developer confirms stats vary by character; the available official material does not give a complete stat ranking or explain the exact effect of every stat.
- Choose by your own priorities. If you are still learning, try the available characters rather than assuming a character is easiest based on name or lore. A character’s starting kit is the beginning of a run, not a complete build.
Build the run as it develops
The official overview describes a loop in which you fight waves, earn experience, and gain opportunities to take weapons and power-ups. Treat those in-run choices as decisions made in response to what appears, rather than as a fixed build guaranteed by your character selection. The official material does not document specific synergies, upgrade rules, or an optimal sequence, so check the actual choices and descriptions in your current game version. - Start by understanding the character’s weapon and stats.
- As experience offers new options, evaluate the weapons and power-ups actually presented in that run.
- Do not assume the character’s starting weapon alone determines the whole run; later choices are part of the progression loop.
Keep run decisions separate from unlock progression
There are two timescales to consider. During a run, experience opens choices involving weapons and power-ups. Across runs, the official overview says players can unlock additional characters, upgrades, weapon combinations, and secrets. Those longer-term unlocks expand what is available; they are not the same as choices made when leveling during a single run.
Use the demo to make a direct comparison
Warhammer Community’s October 6, 2026 announcement says a new demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC and names two demo heroes: the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya. If you have access to that demo, use both characters to compare their starting weapons and stats in practice, then observe how your later weapon and power-up options shape each run. As of October 7, 2026, Warhammer Community and the PlayStation Blog announce a November 10, 2026 launch. The PlayStation Blog names Morvenn Vahl and Lyssa Revenya among the game’s over 40 playable champions; Warhammer Community reports more than 70 weapons.
