In 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Adult Swim Games label gave up publishing for a set of games on Steam in several separate reported rounds, and those games were removed from Steam’s store listings. Anyone who already owns one of these titles keeps it in their Steam library. Under Valve’s documented retirement process, owners can still download, install, and launch a retired game, though online features depend on each game’s own servers and services. The removals were not one event, and reporting does not establish a single reason behind all of them.
What happened, round by round
Coverage of the Adult Swim Games removals describes at least three distinct rounds. Keeping them separate matters, because each round involved different titles, different notice wording, and different outcomes for developers.
March 2024: retirement notices and refused transfers
Ars Technica reported on March 8, 2024 that Warner Bros. Discovery appeared set to remove at least 16 games published under Adult Swim Games. Developers had received retirement notices. Some developers who asked for their games’ Steam publisher accounts to be transferred to them were refused. Ars said the company had been contacted and had not responded by the time of publication.
The same article gave two different counts of what remained under the label, both as historical figures from that month rather than a current catalog. Steam listed 16 games and soundtrack purchases in an Adult Swim Games bundle. The Delisted Games site counted 18 Steam games still published by Adult Swim Games and six published under other publishers.

July 2024: four more titles
PCGamesN reported on July 3, 2024 that four more games were scheduled for removal: Super House of Dead Ninjas, Mega Coin Squad, Zenzizenzic, and Traverser. The delisting was scheduled for July 15, 2024. The store notice attached to these games read: “Adult Swim is no longer able to continue as publisher for this game and the developer is not available to take over as publisher at this time.” That wording describes the publisher’s position for these titles; it does not explain the company’s internal reasoning.
December 2024: Cartoon Network releases on digital platforms
PC Gamer reported on December 23, 2024 that six Cartoon Network games had been removed from sale on digital storefronts. The article identified Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time as published by Adult Swim Games. The store notice gave no reason for these removals. This round is related context, not proof that every affected title belonged to the same action as the March or July removals, and the reporting does not confirm which storefronts beyond the general “digital storefronts” description applied.

- This pool game keeps adult groups laughing around the water. Draw a prompt for dares, challenges, or funny questions that fit backyard pools, lake days, beach trips, cruises, and casual summer hangouts.
- Waterproof PVC cards handle splashes and wet hands during active play. The durable plastic surface helps resist warping, peeling, and fading, so the deck stays useful around poolside tables and lake gear.
- Fast pick-and-play rules make setup easy for any group. Just draw, read aloud, and answer or act, making it simple for friends, couples, bachelorette weekends, birthdays, and vacation crews to join in quickly.
- The compact deck is easy to pack for summer travel. At 0.55 lb and 3.62 x 2.40 x 1.57 in, it fits in a swim bag, suitcase, boat tote, or cruise backpack without adding bulky party supplies.
- A mix of 100 prompts creates fresh icebreaker moments. Use the cards between swims, at poolside tables, in hot tubs, or by the lake to start conversations, group challenges, and memorable vacation laughs.

What delisting means if you already own a game
A Steam delisting and a library removal are different things. Valve’s Steamworks documentation on removing a product from Steam describes the following for retired games:
- Library access continues. A retired game stays in existing owners’ libraries, and owners can keep downloading, installing, and launching it.
- Community pages remain. The game’s Steam Community remains visible and usable.
- The store page stays reachable but leaves store listings. The page remains accessible, but the game no longer appears in Steam store listings, so new buyers cannot purchase it there.
- Keys should stop being sold. Steam keys should not continue to be sold once a title is no longer listed.
- Online features are a separate question. Multiplayer, leaderboards, and similar services may depend on the developer’s or publisher’s own servers. The general retirement documentation does not guarantee those services will continue, so check each title’s own support information.

Michael Molinari and Soundodger+
According to Ars Technica, Michael Molinari, developer of Soundodger+, asked for his game’s listing to be transferred to him and was told no. He said the representative cited “logistical and resource constraints” and “the limited capacity of our team.” He also said he was told he could republish the game, but without its community content, reviews, patch notes, or other accumulated material, and that references to Adult Swim Games would need to be removed. Molinari said he had “explained clearly that it takes literally three clicks to transfer ownership to me.”
Matt Kain and Fist Puncher
Ars also quoted Matt Kain, developer of Fist Puncher, who wrote: “The transfer process literally takes a minute to initiate (look up ‘Transferring Applications’ in the Steamworks documentation), but their rep claimed they have simply made the universal decision not to transfer the games to the original creators.” Kain described the potential loss of more than a decade of discussions, screenshots, gameplay videos, leaderboards, player progress, unlocked characters, achievements, and trading cards if the listing disappeared. That account explains why a republished listing may not be equivalent to keeping the original Steam page, even when a developer is permitted to relaunch the game.

Titles that stayed listed or changed hands
The removals did not reach the whole catalog. PCGamesN reported that some developers recovered publishing rights or kept their titles listed, and named Duck Game as a title that stayed on Steam. Ars’s March reporting also noted that some titles formerly associated with the label were published by other companies. Do not treat the Adult Swim Games label as a list of titles that all disappeared from Steam.

The coverage records notice language, developer accounts, and references to changes at the publisher and to limited team capacity. It does not establish one corporate motive that covers every title or every round. Ars said it contacted Warner Bros. Discovery and had not received a reply at publication, and PC Gamer reported that no reason was provided for the December removals. Claims that the removals were tax-driven, or designed to avoid royalty payments, are not supported by the reporting cited here.

Practical takeaways for readers
- Treat March, July, and December 2024 as separate events with separate notices.
- If you already own a removed title, check its Steam library entry and its own support pages for online features rather than assuming all services continue.
- If you are looking to buy a title that was removed from store listings, its availability on Steam is not established by this reporting; check the current Steam store page, because listings and publisher attribution can change after the reporting dates.
