If the False Prospector camo kept disappearing from your Warzone loadout, that was a documented 2022 issue—not a confirmed current bug. Raven Software’s Season 4 Reloaded patch notes recorded a fix for the camo not applying to weapons, and Activision Support later marked the False Prospector Gold Camo equip issue resolved. Those records establish the historical fix, but do not confirm whether the same symptom can recur in the current Warzone client.
What was the False Prospector camo issue?
False Prospector was a Gold Vanguard weapon camo from the Fortune’s Keep event. In June 2022, players reported that it would vanish after they left the Gunsmith, fail to remain equipped on some weapons, or appear selected in one menu while the camo tab showed none. Was the disappearing camo bug fixed?

Activision Support’s Vanguard known-issues page, dated November 22, 2023, later listed the issue under “Resolved Issues”: “We’ve resolved an issue where some players were unable to equip the False Prospector Gold Camo from the Fortune’s Keep event.” Activision Support: Known Issues in Call of Duty: Vanguard
The two records describe an inability to apply or equip the camo. They do not establish that every persistence symptom players described had the same cause, nor do they confirm the status of the current Warzone client in 2026.

What can you try if it is happening now?
The old community discussions suggested applying the camo after a match started and staying in the Gunsmith until the match began, or putting the camo only on the primary weapon and leaving the secondary weapon without one. These were inconsistent player workarounds from 2022, not verified current fixes. Historical workaround discussion
If the camo is disappearing in your current game, treat it as a potentially recurring or separate client issue rather than assuming those old steps will solve it. Check the current in-game Gunsmith state after applying the camo; if it still will not persist, report the behavior through the game’s current support channels and include the weapon, mode, and point at which the camo disappears. The historical patch and support entries do not provide a current troubleshooting procedure.
