No official confirmation in the reviewed notices establishes that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0’s release date was delayed. HoYoverse said Version 3.8 would have a special schedule, expected to last around eight weeks, and separately announced February 13, 2026 as Version 4.0’s launch date. Those announcements do not document an original and revised 4.0 date.
What HoYoverse confirmed about Version 4.0
HoYoverse announced that Version 4.0, titled “No Aha at Full Moon,” would launch on February 13, 2026. The announcement introduced Planarcadia and the Phantasmoon Games, and named Yao Guang and Sparxie among the new companions. Read HoYoverse’s Version 4.0 announcement.
A PlayStation Blog post published on February 6 also said the update would go live on February 13. Its author, Honkai: Star Rail lead game designer Chengnan An, described the Elation story as spanning an entire year. That is a statement about the story’s scope, not evidence of a release-date change. Read the PlayStation Blog announcement.
Why the delay claim may be confused with Version 3.8
HoYoverse’s December 17, 2025 Version 3.8 update notice said that version would have a special duration, different from regular versions, and was expected to last around eight weeks. The notice also directed players to separate notices about the duration and content and about delay compensation. These statements concern Version 3.8; they do not, by themselves, establish that Version 4.0’s announced date moved. Read HoYoverse’s Version 3.8 update notice.

| Notice | What it establishes | What it does not establish |

| Version 3.8 notice, December 17, 2025 | A special expected duration of around eight weeks, and references to separate duration/content and delay-compensation notices. | A changed Version 4.0 release date. |

Was Version 4.0 delayed?
The official information cited here does not substantiate the claim that HoYoverse confirmed a delay to Version 4.0 itself. It records a special Version 3.8 schedule and a February 13, 2026 Version 4.0 launch announcement, but not an earlier 4.0 date followed by a revised one. Without that documented date change, it is more accurate to say that a Version 4.0 delay is not established by these notices than to report it as officially confirmed.

HoYoverse’s Version 4.6 update notice says that update began on September 28, 2026 and was scheduled to run until November 11, 2026 at 06:00 UTC+8. That confirms Version 4.0 is in the past as of the later schedule, but it does not explain the mechanics or cause of earlier schedule changes. Read HoYoverse’s Version 4.6 update details.
