An official event notice places the end of a player-return event on January 15, 2025, at 06:00 UTC+8—42 days later. That calculation does not prove Version 2.7 itself lasted 42 days, however, and the official notices do not establish that it was the game’s longest update.
What the official notices establish
HoYoverse’s Version 2.7 update details name the update “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn” and give its start as December 4, 2024, at 06:00 UTC+8. The notice outlines a new Trailblaze Mission, Sunday, events, gameplay changes, and system updates. It also estimates maintenance at approximately five hours; that is a maintenance estimate, not the length of the update.
A separate player-return event notice says the event period began after the Version 2.7 update and ended January 15, 2025, at 06:00 UTC+8. From the announced update start to that event endpoint is 42 days. This is a date calculation, not an official statement of Version 2.7’s end date.
Why the “longest update” claim remains unverified
An event’s closing time cannot by itself establish when the game moved to its next version: event schedules and version schedules are separate facts. Nor do the official notices provide a comparison of Version 2.7’s duration with every earlier update. Calling it the longest therefore goes beyond what these dates prove.

How to verify an update-length comparison
A reliable comparison needs the same kind of evidence for every version: an official start timestamp and an official end timestamp, expressed in the same time zone. Calculate each interval from those endpoints, and keep it distinct from maintenance duration, event windows, or banner schedules. The official Version 2.7 notices cited here do not provide the cross-version dates needed to rank it against all previous updates.
