How this fake screenshot differs from later GTA VI leaks
Not every GTA VI leak story refers to the same material. In August 2026, Rockstar addressed separate leaked gameplay videos; Gematsu reproduced the company’s statement in its August 26, 2026 report. That later statement concerns those videos, not the 2024 Lucia screenshot, and does not authenticate it.
There is also a separate download-site risk. Malwarebytes reported on August 24, 2026, that sites impersonating Rockstar offered bogus GTA VI demo or “extended look” downloads that delivered an infostealer. Its report said Rockstar had not announced or released a GTA VI demo at that time.
