The developer has documented historical fixes touching both performance and networking, but the available official notes do not establish a universal fix for every current case. Start by identifying which symptom you have, then use the checks below to narrow it down.
What kind of multiplayer lag are you seeing?
Players use terms such as “lagging in multiplayer,” “massive framedrops in Multiplayer,” and “lag/desync” for different problems. Those are player descriptions, not a formal developer diagnostic system. Separating frame-rate trouble from online-state trouble makes the next check more useful.
Frame drops or uneven motion
If the picture stutters or the frame rate falls, especially when more players are present, you may be seeing a local rendering-performance issue. One Steam community post describes severe frame drops in fuller lobbies, but a single report cannot establish the cause or show how common the problem is: the “Massive framedrops in Multiplayer” thread.
Delayed actions, desync, or player interaction problems
If movement or actions arrive late, the game appears out of sync, players are missing, or you cannot interact with them as expected, the symptom is different from a simple frame-rate drop. Steam community bug reports include player-visibility and interaction complaints, but these are anecdotal rather than an official inventory of known issues: community reports. The available reports do not identify a single cause for an individual player’s case.

What the official patch notes establish
The developer has addressed performance and networking issues in past updates. The official WEBFISHING announcement archive records these dated examples:
- Patch 1.12, January 1, 2025: “Fixed an issue regarding lag/desync cases.” This confirms a historical fix for an issue described that way; it does not say that all lag or desync is fixed.
- Patch 1.11, December 31, 2024: the developer said it had “Generally touched up a lot of networking nonsense.” That informal description is not a technical account of which network conditions or symptoms were addressed.
- Patch 1.08, October 16, 2024: the notes mention minor FPS work.
These notes show that the game has received changes related to frame rate and networking. They are historical patch notes, not a current comprehensive troubleshooting guide or a diagnosis of your PC, connection, or lobby.

Low-risk checks to narrow down the problem
- Check for a game update in Steam. Confirm Steam has installed any available WEBFISHING update before comparing symptoms. The developer has issued bug and networking updates over time, but no specific update should be treated as a guaranteed fix for every case.
- Compare a smaller and fuller lobby. If practical, check the same symptom in a smaller lobby and a fuller one. Note separately whether the frame rate changes and whether actions or interactions are delayed. This is a diagnostic comparison suggested by an individual player’s report, not an official fix or proof that player count is the cause.
- Record what changes. Note whether the issue is visual stutter, delayed actions, desync, missing players, or failed interaction, and whether it happens in both lobby sizes. This gives you a clearer description if you need support; it does not by itself identify the cause.
- Check the official support route if it persists. Use the WEBFISHING Steam technical-support page for the current support options. The page lists [email protected], but contact details can change, so verify them on the page before using them.
Do the listed PC requirements explain multiplayer lag?
No. The Steam store listing describes WEBFISHING as a multiplayer online casual fishing game and lists these minimum requirements:
