One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware match“Fart trails” is a joking nickname for the scent-tracking effect in Marvel’s Wolverine. The game calls it Scent Trails or a Senses effect: it helps show a scent or clue Logan is following, rather than giving him a fart-related ability.
When do the scent trails appear?
They appear when Logan is tracking a scent or clue. Insomniac community and marketing director James Stevenson described the effect as appearing only when Logan tracks a specific scent or sound, with examples including a person, whisky, or another clue scent, as reported by the secondary report. Those examples are attributed to Stevenson; Insomniac’s patch notes do not list every trigger.
Can you turn them off?
Yes, but the available control depends on what kind of Senses cue you mean and which game update is installed.
Optional collectible and clue indicators
Update 1.001.006 added individual on/off toggles for Whisky Bottle Scent Trails, Material Crate Audio Clues, and Nightmare Door Roots. Insomniac says story-critical Senses still appear in the world. See the official update 1.001.006 notes for the listed options.

Story-related scent trails
In update 1.002.001, Insomniac added an option to show story-related Scent Trails using the Hint button, R3 by default. This is the latest official update located for this control; later updates could change it. The official update 1.002.001 notes describe the new toggle.
How are scent trails different from Navigation Assist?
Navigation Assist shows a direction trail toward the nearest enemy or mission objective. It is a navigation aid, not the same thing as a scent cue. The accessibility settings also let players customize the Senses effect’s colors. Insomniac lists these options on its accessibility features page.
