That reply was not an announcement or a definitive denial. Bethesda Game Studios later revealed and released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on April 22, 2025, describing its goal as remastering the 2006 game, not remaking it.
What did Bethesda Support say about the Oblivion remake rumours?
A third-party report published April 15, 2025, described an online exchange around April 10. According to the report, a fan first asked about the existing game, then clarified that they meant a remake. The support representative apologized for the confusion and replied, “We have no official information on an Oblivion remake.” (TweakTown’s report.)
The quoted wording is reported through third-party coverage and a fan-posted exchange; a preserved official Bethesda Support post was not located. It should therefore be read as what the support account reportedly said at that moment, not as a formal Bethesda announcement or a definitive company position.
Did the reply confirm or rule out a remake?
No. “We have no official information” describes what the representative said they could provide. It does not establish whether a project existed, whether the representative knew about one, or whether that account was authorized to announce projects. It is not a coded confirmation, and it is not proof that no project was in development.

What Bethesda later announced and released
On April 22, 2025, Bethesda Game Studios officially revealed and launched The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The studio said development had begun in 2021 and described work with partner Virtuos on updated art, animation, effects, world details, some newly recorded voices alongside original performances, updated game systems, and adjusted leveling. Bethesda said it aimed to preserve the original game’s core. (Bethesda Game Studios’ launch message.)
The studio made its terminology explicit: “We never wanted to remake it – but remaster it – where the original game was there as you remember playing it, but seen through today’s technology.” (Bethesda Game Studios, April 22, 2025.) That distinction is the clearest answer to whether the eventual release was a remake: Bethesda called it a remaster and described its intent accordingly.
