In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Zelda’s eyes are green according to a fan-maintained Zelda reference. That same reference describes shades of blue for many of her other game designs. Nintendo’s official character material does not specify eye color for any version, so the accurate answer always names the game.
Why there is no single answer
Zelda is not drawn the same way in every entry. Nintendo’s official character page presents separate Zelda depictions for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, and Echoes of Wisdom. Each one is a game-specific design, so a claim about her eyes needs to be attached to one of them.
Nintendo describes Zelda as the princess of Hyrule and associates her with the Triforce of Wisdom. That description is consistent across the series, but it does not include a color for her eyes.
Eye color by game
| Game design | Eye color | Source and how firm the claim is |
|---|---|---|
| Breath of the Wild | Green | Fan-maintained Zelda reference. This is secondary reporting, not a statement in Nintendo’s official text. |
| Tears of the Kingdom | Not stated | Nintendo’s official character page confirms this depiction but gives no eye color in its text. |
| Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Echoes of Wisdom | Not stated game by game | The fan-maintained reference groups many designs under blue shades. It does not confirm the color for each of these titles individually. |
The green Zelda of Breath of the Wild
The only specific color claim with a clear game attached is the green eyes of the Breath of the Wild version. Treat it as a fan reference’s description rather than a line from Nintendo. If you need to cite it, say that a fan-maintained Zelda reference describes her as green-eyed in that game.

The blue shades in other designs
The same fan reference describes blue shades across many other Zelda depictions. This is a generalization. It does not confirm the exact shade or the color for every individual game, so avoid writing that all other versions share one eye color.

- Specific game: “In Breath of the Wild, Zelda has green eyes, according to a fan-maintained Zelda reference.”
- Series-wide question: “Her eye color varies by game. Many designs are described as blue, but the official Nintendo material does not specify eye color.”
- Tears of the Kingdom or any unlisted version: “Eye color for that design is not established in an official source.”
Do not attribute the green or blue descriptions to Nintendo. The official character page and series description do not state them.
