The US product page is the primary reference for the SKU and includes the USB-C cable in its contents. The UK bundle page lists the leaflet as well as the hardware. Those wording differences do not establish that the physical contents are materially different; they show that Nintendo’s regional pages itemize the box differently. Check the page for the country where you intend to buy before assuming every local listing uses the same inventory wording. What does each included accessory do?
The console is the Switch 2 unit itself. It is the part carrying the 40th Anniversary treatment: Nintendo UK specifically identifies Triforce motifs on the back. Because Nintendo does not publish a separate hardware specification for this edition in the cited bundle listings, you should treat it as a themed version of the Switch 2 rather than assume a different processor, screen, storage capacity or performance profile.
Joy-Con 2 controllers
The box contains both a left and a right Joy-Con 2 controller. Having both means the package is ready for the normal two-controller configuration without buying a second controller separately. Nintendo’s package descriptions do not say that either controller has unique Zelda graphics, so the confirmed themed element is the console’s rear design, not special artwork on every component.
Joy-Con 2 straps
Two straps are listed, matching the two controllers. They are the small strap accessories that attach to the Joy-Con 2 units when you want the added wrist support associated with motion-oriented or family play. Their inclusion means you do not need to source a separate strap for each controller at unboxing.

Joy-Con 2 grip
The grip is included for players who prefer holding the two Joy-Con 2 controllers together as one controller-shaped unit. It is distinct from the dock: the grip is a controller-holding accessory, while the dock is the console’s home-play base. Nintendo lists the grip but does not call it a Zelda-themed part.
Switch 2 dock
The dock is included for TV or monitor use with the system’s docked mode. Nintendo identifies the dock in both regional package lists but does not claim a Triforce pattern or other special decoration on it. Do not infer that the dock has matching anniversary artwork simply because the console does.
Power and video cables
Nintendo lists a Switch 2 AC adapter and an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable. Together, those are the power and display cables named for the docked setup. The US listing also names a USB-C charging cable. Since the UK page does not separately call out that cable in the quoted contents, buyers in the UK or another region should confirm the local page or box inventory rather than assume that every regional package uses identical cable wording.

Important Information leaflet
The UK contents list includes an Important Information leaflet. It is documentation, not a game, code or accessory. Its presence explains why the UK list has one more line item than a short summary of the console, controllers and dock might suggest.
Does the Zelda Switch 2 bundle include a game?
No game is listed in Nintendo UK’s official package contents for the 40th Anniversary Edition. The safest interpretation is that the bundle supplies the themed console and standard hardware only. A retailer could theoretically create its own promotion, but that would be a separate offer and should be stated in that retailer’s listing; it is not part of the Nintendo package inventory established here.
Do not treat the presence of the Zelda name as evidence that a download code or cartridge is in the box. Nintendo’s list names the console, controllers, dock, cables, straps, grip and leaflet, but no physical game, digital code or membership. If a product page advertises a game, read whether it is an independently added retailer incentive and verify the redemption region before paying.

What about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment?
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is a separate physical and digital game for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo’s game page gives it a November 6, 2025 release date. That title is not identified as an included item in the 40th Anniversary console listing, so buying the themed system does not, on the evidence of Nintendo’s contents list, provide the game automatically.
What is actually Zelda-themed?
The confirmed visual treatment is on the rear of the console. Nintendo UK describes Triforce motifs there, tying the hardware to The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary. The product listings identify the Joy-Con 2 controllers and dock as included but do not specify Zelda artwork on those parts. That distinction matters when comparing photographs: a retailer may show the console from an angle that reveals the motif, while the controllers, grip and dock may use the ordinary appearance shown in Nintendo’s package description.
Nintendo’s announcement also does not establish a different software interface, exclusive system sounds, bonus game content or altered technical specifications for this edition. Unless a regional product page says otherwise, the confirmed difference is the anniversary design, not a new model tier. Nintendo UK’s holiday-bundle announcement is the source for the Triforce description and the edition’s presentation.

When does it release, and how can you identify the correct listing?
Nintendo lists October 29, 2026 as the release date in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The US listing assigns SKU 121642. Because the current date is before that announced date, a retailer’s “preorder,” “coming soon” or “out of stock” label should not be confused with a confirmed change to Nintendo’s release schedule.
- Match the full product name: Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition.
- For US listings, check SKU 121642.
- Confirm that the date shown is October 29, 2026 and that the seller ships to your country.
- Read the package-contents section for the console, both Joy-Con 2 controllers, dock, grip, straps, AC adapter and HDMI cable.
- Look for an explicit statement if a retailer adds a game; the Nintendo bundle itself does not list one.
