Sins of the Flesh, version 1.3.0 of Cult of the Lamb, launched on January 16, 2024. Its follower-breeding system lets two followers use the Mating Tent and possibly produce an egg, which can then be placed in a Hatchery to hatch a new follower. That can support the cult’s growth over time, but the official notes do not say the update extends any individual follower’s lifespan.
What was Sins of the Flesh?
Massive Monster’s official patch notes identify Sins of the Flesh as version 1.3.0 and date its release January 16, 2024. The update added a broad set of cult-management features, alongside new combat and progression content. It was announced as a free update in PlayStation Blog’s January 8, 2024 announcement. Andy Kelly, PR Manager at Devolver Digital, called it “the biggest yet.” Xbox Wire also previewed the update and its Mating Tent ahead of launch in a January 8, 2024 announcement.

How follower mating and egg hatching work
The Mating Tent
The Mating Tent gives followers a chance to mate. The patch notes describe the possibility in playful terms: “When two Followers love each other very much, they may enter the tent, and find an egg afterwards…” The outcome is not guaranteed: the notes say followers with the Lustful or Celibate trait have different odds of mating there.
The Hatchery
An egg can be placed in a Hatchery to hatch, providing another way to add followers to the cult. Together, the tent and Hatchery form a follower-generation loop: pair followers, obtain an egg if mating succeeds, then hatch it. The official description concerns follower reproduction; it does not describe a sexual relationship involving the Lamb or simulate explicit sexual activity.

Does the update make followers live longer?
Not according to the official patch notes. “Longevity” is not a named feature of Sins of the Flesh, and the notes do not say that it reverses aging, prevents old-age death, or otherwise extends an individual follower’s life. The mating and hatching system can help sustain or grow a cult by producing new followers, which is a different kind of long-term support than extending the lifespan of existing followers.
What else did the update add?
Sin and cult management
Sin is a new resource generated through designated rituals and buildings. The patch notes list several uses: upgrading the Temple, removing Purgatory’s cooldown, re-indoctrinating followers, and constructing buildings. The update also introduced a Sin Doctrine category and new rituals, including Rite of Lust, Rite of Wrath, Gluttony of Cannibals, Sinner’s Pride, and Discipleship.

Buildings, progression and other additions
New buildings included the Drinkhouse, Mating Tent, Hatchery, Drum Circle, and Tailor. Other additions included the Blunderbuss, new crops and resources, six achievements, golden-egg skins, an extension to Sozo’s questline, and a Disciple ritual for followers who reach level 10. The patch notes also describe follower conflict that can lead to injury or death.

The phrase “sex update” is informal shorthand for the Mating Tent and egg system, not the update’s formal title or a description of explicit sexual content. The feature list above refers to the update as released in January 2024; it is not a complete inventory of the game’s current content. The official patch-note page includes later version entries through 1.5.24, dated October 3, 2026 on the page. That displayed date does not establish that every platform received the same update on that date.
