Nomadic Crafting is a late Survival-tree skill that current guides say lets you craft seven items during a raid: shotgun, light, medium and heavy ammo, a Grappling Hook, a Zipline and a Shrapnel Grenade. Embark’s official Frozen Trail patch notes confirm the revamped end-of-branch choice structure that the skill sits within, but they do not list these seven items, so the item list rests on secondary reporting until you see it in your own skill menu.
The items it unlocks
Two current guides list the following as field-craftable once the skill is unlocked. Beebom quotes the in-game skill description as “Allows you to field craft a much wider range of items.” That wording is secondhand, so check the exact text in the skill display.
- Shotgun ammo
- Light ammo
- Medium ammo
- Heavy ammo
- Grappling Hook
- Zipline
- Shrapnel Grenade
The four ammo types are the most immediately practical part of the list, since they address ammunition supply in the middle of a raid. The Grappling Hook and Zipline are traversal items, and the Shrapnel Grenade is an explosive. Guides do not describe how these items perform in combat, so their value in play is not established here.
Where the skill sits in the Survival tree
According to Beebom, Nomadic Crafting comes after two earlier crafting skills in the reported progression:

- ARC Raiders Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the following content: The Wanderer Set, including the following cosmetic items: “Valente” Outfit" “Pathfinder” Backpack,“Blanket Roll” Backpack Attachment.
- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.
- In-round Crafting unlocks field crafting for a first group of consumables and grenades.
- Traveling Tinkerer adds a second group of field-craftable items.
- Nomadic Crafting is the final node in this path and expands field crafting to the seven items listed above.
Beebom reports that you need to invest 30 or 40 points in Survival before this node becomes selectable. The guide gives both figures without specifying which applies to which build, so confirm the requirement in the skill menu. Embark’s Frozen Trail notes say that end-of-branch choices require reaching a set skill-point investment and that players may choose up to two of three skills. The official notes support that general structure, but they do not name the 30 or 40 point threshold.
Skills it builds on
A community-maintained skill reference lists the items unlocked by the earlier crafting skills. The table below uses that reference. Its Traveling Tinkerer entries are partial, and it does not state exact point thresholds for these earlier skills.
Rank #2
| Skill | Reported position | Field-craftable items listed |
|---|---|---|
| In-round Crafting | Earlier Survival crafting skill | Flame Spray, Shaker, Li’l Smoke Grenade, Light Impact Grenade, Fruit Mix, Shield Recharger, Adrenaline Shot, Agave Juice, Bandage |
| Traveling Tinkerer | Middle Survival crafting skill | Noisemaker, several grenade traps, Herbal Bandage, Raider Hatch Key (partial list) |
| Nomadic Crafting | Final node | Shotgun, light, medium and heavy ammo, Grappling Hook, Zipline, Shrapnel Grenade |
The reference’s details are secondary and should be checked against the current in-game display, because item names and groupings can change between updates.
What the sources do not establish: recipe costs and blueprints
None of the consulted guides gives resource costs for the seven Nomadic Crafting items. Embark’s patch notes mention fixes to recipe-learning notifications for Snap Hook, Blaze Grenade and Crash Mat, but they do not state that every Nomadic Crafting recipe requires a blueprint.
Rank #3
- Capture and Tame Dinosaurs: Discover over 100 different dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures on the island, finding ways to tame them into useful additions for your tribe's dyno herd
- Survive Above All: Hunger, thirst, basic safety, and protecting yourself from the weather are all part of the game
- Harvest, Hunt and Build: Cut down trees and turn them into a basic home, which you can quickly expand into a Jurassic estate. Hunt for meat, scavenge for plants (or start your own garden!)
- Customize Everything: An extensive crafting system invites you to mix and match materials scavenged from the island, while also modifying the colors, textures, shapes, and styles
- Explore the Island: Solve the mystery of The ARK as you explore this massive island, discovering Explorer's Notebooks (filled with clues!) throughout
Whether these items need blueprints is therefore unresolved. Before planning a loadout around them, open the crafting menu during a run or between runs and check each recipe’s requirements directly.
The defibrillator question
Beebom states that defibrillators cannot be crafted in a raid with this skill. Community discussion reports that they may be craftable once the blueprint is learned. The official patch notes reviewed do not settle the dispute, so treat either claim as unconfirmed until the in-game recipe screen or an official clarification shows the answer.
Rank #4
- Use cunning strategy and tactics to tame, train, ride and breed the 100+ dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the dynamic, persistent ecosystems across land, sea, air, and even underground Build your character's strengths and gain items, skills, and pet creatures using in-depth role-playing systems
- Start a tribe with hundreds of other players to survive and dominate competing tribes...and ultimately discover ARK's true purpose
- Build a fire or shelter, then craft customizable clothing & armors to help protect against damage and extreme temperatures on your way to unlocking advanced technologies and equipment
- Chop down trees and mine metal and other precious resources to build massive multi-leveled structures composed of complex snap-linked parts
Version and timing
Embark said the Frozen Trail update went live on October 8, 2026. The skill reporting describes the tree as it stands after that update. Builds from before the update may present the Survival tree differently, so the point thresholds and item lists above may not match an older version.
