How to change a profession
- Go to the Statue of Uncertainty in the Sewers.
- Pay 10,000g and choose one skill. The menu lists skills for which you have already selected professions.
- Go to bed. The next profession-choice screens let you choose that skill’s level 5 profession and then its corresponding level 10 profession.
The statue changes profession choices, not skill levels. Profession choices are made at levels 5 and 10 in Farming, Mining, Foraging, Fishing, and Combat. For the mechanics and menu behavior, see the Stardew Valley Wiki’s Statue of Uncertainty entry.
What happens to your old profession bonuses?
When you select a skill to change, its existing profession bonuses disappear. If the old profession increased sale prices, items you put in the shipping bin that day will not receive that bonus. If you want the old bonus on those sales, wait until the next day to ship them.
#1 Best Overall
- For 1 to 4 players
- Ages 13+
- About 45 minutes per player
- A cooperative board game
- Based on the hit video game
Is it worth using?
That depends on whether the new profession’s benefits suit your plans enough to justify 10,000g. Consider your current profession, what you expect to do next, and any sale-price bonus you might lose on items shipped that day. The fee applies to one selected skill per use.
