EA’s College Football 25 Sights and Sounds Deep Dive describes a broad effort to give all 134 FBS schools distinct presentation details, from fight songs and crowd chants to stadium traditions, mascots, and broadcast commentary. It is a developer feature—not an independent test of how accurately or consistently those details appear in play. EA’s video listing dates the deep dive to June 26, 2024.
What the Sights and Sounds Deep Dive covers
Written in the voice of Christian Brandt, EA’s Senior Game Designer and Presentation Lead, the feature treats presentation as more than stadium scenery. It describes school-specific traditions and the sights and sounds surrounding a game, including what happens before kickoff, in the stands, during play, and between plays. Brandt says the team kept in mind that “Every team is someone’s favorite team.”
EA’s examples include Clemson’s hill runout, Notre Dame’s stairs and “Play Like A Champion” sign, Purdue’s bass drum, team mascots, turnover props, Tennessee’s checkerboard crowd pattern, and school-specific fan props. The article also discusses stadiums, uniforms, crowd layouts, chants, school hand signals, celebrations, commentary, studio updates, and a picture-in-picture play-call screen designed to keep information visible while presentation continues.
How EA says it built school-specific visuals
EA says it gathered local stadium references and photographs from schools, and used motion capture to reproduce people interacting with props. For uniforms, the team describes an in-engine toolset intended to help artists build variations across 134 schools. These are EA’s reported development methods; the deep dive does not independently measure the accuracy of the resulting stadiums, uniforms, or animations.

EA says it worked with ESPN to capture crowd audio from broadcasts over two seasons, covering 41 games. EA says Feature Producer Torsten Staley, an Oregon Marching Band alumnus, traveled to Nashville to record every team’s fight song with musicians that included former students and alumni. The counts and recording details above come from EA’s 2024 account; the feature does not provide an independent measurement method.
Commentary and play-call presentation
EA says the game has more than 68,000 commentary lines, recorded across over 870 hours. It also describes studio updates and commentary teams as part of the broadcast-style presentation. For the play-call screen, EA reports more than 400 information panels and says the picture-in-picture approach keeps play-calling information on screen while presentation continues. These are production counts and design descriptions from EA, not a third-party assessment of how the systems operate during a game.

What the deep dive establishes—and what it does not
The feature establishes the scope of what EA says it built: school-specific traditions and props, crowd and band recordings, chants, mascots, commentary, and on-screen play-call information. It also describes dynamic attendance in Dynasty and a stadium-pulse connection in an example. That example should not be read as proof of a general gameplay effect or as an independent finding about how presentation behaves in every situation.
Because the deep dive is a developer presentation, its counts and descriptions are EA’s own claims. It is useful for understanding the intended features and reported production work, but it does not verify that every detail is equally accurate or that every feature performs as described in actual play.
