The June 2024 EpicDB leak exposed unpublished Epic Games Store listing names and codenames linked in contemporaneous reporting to projects from several publishers. Some names were already recognizable, while others were tentative identifications based on store metadata—not official announcements. EpicDB was a third-party cataloging tool, and the entries should not be treated as a current release calendar.
What was EpicDB?
EpicDB described itself as a third-party tool for cataloging products on the Epic Games Store and said the site was in alpha. It was not an official Epic Games database. When publisher pages on the site exposed unpublished or codenamed entries, the listings drew attention because they appeared to reveal store metadata that had not been publicly announced. Gematsu’s June 12, 2024 report and GameSpot’s report covered the exposure.
What games and codenames appeared in the reports?
The examples below distinguish names reported as store listings from identifications inferred from metadata. A listing or clue is not proof that a game was officially announced, remains in development, or is still planned for release.
| Publisher or organization | Listing or codename | Clue reported | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frontier Developments | Planet Coaster 2 | Reported as a named entry under Frontier Developments. | Listed name, as reported by Gematsu on June 12, 2024. |
| GIANTS Software | Farming Simulator 25 | Reported as a named entry under GIANTS Software. | Listed name, as reported by Gematsu on June 12, 2024. |
| Saber Interactive | Turok | Reported as a named entry under Saber Interactive. | Listed name, as reported by Gematsu on June 12, 2024. |
| THQ Nordic | Remnant 3 | Reported as a named entry under THQ Nordic. | Listed name, as reported by Gematsu on June 12, 2024; the listing alone does not establish an official announcement. |
| Rockstar Games | Semla | Gematsu connected the codename to a possible PC port based on its file size. | Tentative reported inference, not an official identification. |
| Sony Interactive Entertainment | Utah | Gematsu connected the codename to The Last of Us Part II Remastered based on a save-folder attribute. | Tentative reported inference, not an official identification. |
| Square Enix | Momo | Gematsu suggested a possible Final Fantasy IX remake based on bonus item names. | Tentative reported inference, not an official identification. |
| Square Enix | Skobeloff | Gematsu associated the codename with Final Fantasy XVI based on its save-folder path. | Reported identification based on metadata, not an official announcement. |
| Unknown organization | Penguin Game | Gematsu reported a listing description calling it a 52-player online racing game. | Its official status was unclear; the player count comes from the reported description, not a verified announcement. |
Gematsu also cautioned that some other publisher entries had not been updated in years and might have been test products or abandoned projects. The report did not establish that every entry was current or identifiable.

Were the leaked games confirmed?
No. A store entry can reveal a product name, internal codename, file detail, or other metadata, but that information does not by itself confirm a public announcement, a release-ready game, or a launch plan. The interpretations of Semla, Utah, Momo, and Skobeloff were based on clues described in Gematsu’s report; they should be treated as reported inferences rather than definitive publisher confirmations.
How did Epic respond?
GameSpot reported that an Epic Games spokesperson said: “We released an update tonight so third-party tools can’t surface any new unpublished product titles from the Epic Games Store catalogue.” This is a statement attributed to the spokesperson by GameSpot in its June 12, 2024 report, not a first-party transcript. The report said Epic had changed the store so third-party tools could no longer surface new unpublished product titles.

Can the EpicDB list be used as a release calendar?
No. The coverage describes a snapshot of listings exposed in June 2024, not a maintained schedule. The cited reports do not establish what happened to every codename afterward, and old or ambiguous entries may have referred to tests or abandoned work. Check for a later announcement from the relevant publisher before relying on any entry as a current game or release plan.
