Random rewards can be useful when you are willing to accept several possible outcomes, but they are a poor substitute for a guaranteed purchase. If you need a specific card to keep your plot earning, do not spin on the assumption that the wheel will supply it. Read the available rewards and decide whether every possible result is acceptable before confirming.
Free spins can come from codes
The guide reports that redeem codes may award free spins. Codes are not a universal, permanent source: each code can have its own reward, validity period and redemption limit. A code mentioned in an older post may already be disabled, and a currently valid code may award something other than a spin.

The same secondary guide says that additional Spin Wheel attempts cost Gems. This is a guide-reported mechanic rather than a complete, permanent specification. The price may be shown per spin, per bundle or through a changing offer, and the reward pool may be updated at the same time. Open the wheel, select the proposed spin and read the confirmation panel before approving the purchase.
If the interface does not show a Gem charge, do not assume that the action is free. Some games place a separate confirmation step after the reward preview. What Gems do
Gems can fund paid Spin Wheel attempts

6. Set a Gem limit before confirming
Choose a maximum number of Gems for the session. Include the full displayed price, not an assumed first-spin price or a discount remembered from another update. Common mistakes and how to recover
Spending from an outdated price
