If you earn a Twitch Drop but don’t claim it, Twitch says you can claim it from your Drops Inventory while the campaign is active and for up to seven days (168 hours) after it ends. After that window, don’t assume the Drop is still claimable; check the campaign’s details as soon as possible.
How long do you have to claim a Twitch Drop?
Twitch’s general guidance gives you until the campaign ends, plus up to seven days (168 hours) afterward, to claim an unclaimed reward in Drops Inventory. The claim notification is only a prompt: missing the message does not prevent you from claiming during the campaign. Open Drops Inventory and claim the reward before the applicable deadline.

The campaign’s own rules may add conditions, so treat seven days as Twitch’s general guidance rather than a guarantee that every campaign has identical terms.
Does the six-month inventory period give you more time?
No. Twitch says Drops rewards disappear from Drops Inventory after six months. That is how long a reward may remain visible in the inventory, not an extension of the claim deadline. The claim window is tied to the campaign end; the six-month period concerns inventory visibility.

Is claiming different from linking your game account?
Yes. Claiming the Drop on Twitch, linking the relevant game account, and receiving the reward in the game are separate steps. Twitch says most developers will fulfill a reward if you link your game account within 14 days of the relevant campaign ending, but limited-use rewards can have other restrictions. This account-linking guidance is separate from the Twitch claim window.
Most rewards are delivered to a connected game account. Some campaigns instead provide a code that you must redeem on a third-party website. Check the campaign instructions to see which delivery method applies.

What if Twitch says the Drop is claimed but it is missing in the game?
A Twitch claim does not itself confirm that the game has delivered the item. First, check whether the correct game account is linked and look in the game’s usual location for rewards or inventory items. If the problem is with delivery after claiming, Twitch directs viewers to the game developer, publisher, or promotional partner. Twitch’s developer documentation also explains that reward fulfillment after the Twitch claim is handled by the developer.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can a game have its own Drop rules?
Yes. Twitch’s seven-day claim guidance is general, while individual campaigns and games can impose additional conditions. For example, Facepunch’s Rust Drops page says a claimed item may take up to 10 minutes to appear in Steam inventory. It also says Rust Drops claimed more than 180 days ago expire and cannot be redeemed to a Steam item. Those are Rust-specific terms, not universal Twitch deadlines.
