What happens in Valhalla’s main-game ending?
In the main-game climax, Eivor and Sigurd reach the Isu structure in Norway. Eivor rejects the constructed Valhalla and Odin’s effort to dominate their will, then returns to the Raven Clan story. The Valhalla sequence is part of the game’s Isu science-fiction mythology; it is not proof that Eivor literally dies there.
What does The Last Chapter add?
The Last Chapter is a later epilogue, separate from the base-game climax. Ubisoft described it as tying up some storylines and offering closure to the player’s time with the Raven Clan, calling it “a touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor’s saga.” In it, Eivor leaves Ravensthorpe and travels to Vinland, providing a final farewell to the clan. Ubisoft’s post-launch announcement announced The Last Chapter as part of the game’s final content update. Ubisoft’s final content update announcement likewise identifies it as an epilogue.
How to unlock the epilogue
Ubisoft’s announcement lists these requirements to access The Last Chapter:

- Upgrade the settlement to level 5 and build the Jomsviking barracks.
- Eliminate the Order of the Ancients and reveal its leader.
The Last Chapter was included in the final content update; Ubisoft’s announcement does not make a paid expansion a prerequisite. Ubisoft’s update announcement provides the release context.
Is Dawn of Ragnarök Eivor’s ending?
No. Dawn of Ragnarök is a mythic, Odin-focused expansion in which Eivor embraces Odin’s destiny and tries to save his son. It is distinct from The Last Chapter, the later epilogue that provides Eivor’s farewell to the Raven Clan. Ubisoft describes Dawn of Ragnarök as a mythic adventure centered on Odin.

Does Eivor die, and what happens afterward?
Eivor’s association with Vinland connects to the modern-day discovery of Eivor’s remains, but the official sources cited here do not establish a precise death date, cause, or full account of the years between Eivor’s departure and death. The ending therefore provides a destination and emotional farewell, not a complete account of Eivor’s final years. The game’s Valhalla sequence itself should not be treated as a literal death scene.
