Ankha is a cat villager in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing series, known for her Egyptian-inspired look and, from Animal Crossing: City Folk onward, a snooty personality. She also has her own amiibo card, numbered #188 in Series 2, but a sealed Series 2 pack will not reliably contain her.
Who Ankha is
Ankha is one of the villagers who live on your island and talk to you as neighbors. She is a cat, and her design draws on ancient Egyptian royal imagery: a navy blue-and-gold striped coat, bold eye makeup in the style of Egyptian royalty, and cobra-shaped headgear. Those visual details are what most players remember her for.

Her personality is classified as snooty. In the games, snooty villagers speak with an air of superiority and tend to be particular about their surroundings. Ankha holds that classification from City Folk onward, so she is not snooty in every game in the way some other villagers are. Her birthday is listed as September 22.

A note on sourcing: these character details come from Nookipedia, a fan-compiled reference wiki for the series. We did not locate a dedicated Nintendo biography page for Ankha, so treat the appearance, personality, and birthday as community-documented facts rather than official character profiles.

Her amiibo card
Ankha’s amiibo card is #188 in the Series 2 set, according to Nookipedia. Series 2 is a Nintendo amiibo line released on January 22, 2016, and Nintendo’s product detail page for the series notes that compatibility and functionality vary by game.
The important detail is how Series 2 is sold. Nintendo’s US store describes each Series 2 pack as six cards drawn from a random selection of Animal Crossing characters, plus one special character. Nothing in the packaging guarantees that Ankha is in a given pack, so buying packs is a matter of chance.

| Option | What you receive | Guarantees Ankha? | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual Ankha card (#188, Series 2) | One card with Ankha’s artwork and amiibo data | Yes, if the card is genuine and matches the #188 listing | Players who want Ankha specifically |

Buying an individual card
- Search for the listing by name and number: “Animal Crossing Ankha amiibo card #188.” A listing that does not mention Series 2 or #188 may be a different card.
- Check the photos for the card’s artwork and the Series 2 markings before paying.
- Prices and stock change frequently, and we did not verify current listings. Check them on the day you buy.
- Confirm the seller’s return policy, since authenticity disputes are easier to resolve when you can return an item.
Using Ankha in New Horizons and other games
Nintendo’s support documentation says amiibo can invite a character to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons campsite, Roost, Photopia, and other supported destinations. Once a character is at the campsite, you can move them onto your island by inviting them several times and continuing to interact with them.
Nintendo also documents Animal Crossing amiibo card functions in Happy Home Designer, where the pictured villager can be called into the game for home design. Exact behavior depends on the amiibo and the game, so check the instructions for your specific title before relying on a particular function.

- Amiibo Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer Card
- Only 1 card included
- Number 188 out of 200
- This is the Japan Version of the card
- USA Version does not come out till January 22, 2016
Bottom line
Ankha is a snooty cat villager with an Egyptian-inspired design. If you want her amiibo card, search for the Series 2 #188 card directly, because a Series 2 pack is random and will not reliably deliver her.
