What kind of game is Arkheron?
Steam describes Arkheron as a fast-paced, isometric team PvP looter. Players find items that shape their builds and how they play. Bonfire’s central mode is called Ascension: teams fight their way up a mysterious tower, trying to be the last team left.
Ascension: 15 teams competing to survive
Bonfire describes Ascension as a match of 15 teams of three—45 players in total. That is the studio’s stated format, not an independently measured statistic. Collecting items and combining abilities lets teams shape their builds as they compete.
Spires: a smaller team arena
Bonfire has also described Spires, a 3v3 arena mode. The studio’s June 2026 pre-Closed Beta FAQ characterizes it as a best-of-three deathmatch. It offers a smaller-team format alongside Ascension’s many-team tower contest.

How can you play Arkheron?
The September 25–27, 2026 crossplay beta has ended. Bonfire’s play page now directs interested players to waitlists for future playtests. Joining a waitlist is an opportunity to seek access to a test, not access to a released commercial game.
Bonfire first revealed Arkheron on September 17, 2025, alongside an open Steam alpha. It later announced a Steam Next Fest demo in February 2026, then a crossplay beta across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation in September. Those test periods have passed; the official play page is the place to check for current future-test information.

What platforms will Arkheron be on?
Bonfire has planned Arkheron for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The September 2026 crossplay beta included Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation. Those platform plans and test platforms do not establish a final launch date or confirm every detail of commercial availability.
When will Arkheron launch?
There is no announced release date. Steam currently marks the game as not yet available and gives its release date as “To be announced.” Earlier plans or test announcements should not be read as a confirmed launch schedule.

Is Arkheron free to play?
No. Bonfire said in its June 5, 2026 pre-Closed Beta FAQ that Arkheron will not be free to play. The studio has not announced a price in the official sources reviewed here. Steam lists in-app purchases as a feature, but that listing does not establish what they will contain, what they will cost, or how the final system will work.
