Dordle is a Wordle-style puzzle in which every five-letter guess is entered on two boards at once. On Dordle.gg, players get seven guesses to solve both hidden words, making each turn a balancing act: one word might reveal useful clues for one board while doing little for the other.
The title’s “addiction” is playful hyperbole, not a clinical claim. Here’s how the game works, what makes it demanding, and where to find its daily and unlimited modes.
What is Dordle?
Dordle presents two separate boards, each hiding a five-letter word. You enter one five-letter guess, and the game applies it to both boards. Each board then returns its own color clues, so a letter can be green on one side, yellow on the other, and gray on both—or any other combination.
On Dordle.gg, the goal is to solve both words within seven total guesses. Once you solve one board, later guesses can concentrate on the word still hidden on the other. The rules and features below describe that site; other Dordle versions or mirrors may work differently.

How do you play Dordle?
- Enter a five-letter word. That single guess is submitted to both boards.
- Read each board’s feedback separately. Green means a letter is in the correct position; yellow means it appears in the word but belongs in another position; gray means the board has not identified it as part of that answer. A clue on one board does not automatically apply to the other.
- Use the clues to choose your next shared guess. Look for a word that can test useful letters or positions on both boards, while avoiding letters already ruled out on a particular side.
- Finish the clearer board when you can. Solving one answer leaves later guesses to work on the remaining board alone.
A practical opening is a word that tests several common letters. After each turn, assess the two sets of clues independently, then choose a guess with useful information for both. This is a general approach, not a proven optimal algorithm; the best move depends on the clues you have.
How many guesses do you get?
Dordle.gg states that players have seven guesses to solve the pair. The important distinction is that the guesses are shared: you do not get seven turns for each board. A word that helps one answer can still be a poor use of a turn if it contributes little to the other.

Is Dordle harder than Wordle?
Dordle adds a clear challenge compared with a single-board format: each guess must serve two hidden answers, and you must track separate feedback for each. That makes it more demanding by design, but there is no universal difficulty ranking. Your experience depends on the words, your approach, and the specific version you play.

Can you play Dordle unlimited?
Yes. Dordle.gg describes both a daily puzzle and an unlimited mode. The site says its daily pair is the same for all players and a new pair arrives at midnight; its FAQ says statistics are stored in the browser on the player’s device. These are claims about Dordle.gg and may change, and they should not be assumed to apply to other versions.
Is there a Dordle app?
An Apple App Store listing exists for Dordle: Word Puzzle Game App, and the listing describes it as free with in-app purchases. It is a separate digital listing from the browser game at Dordle.gg; check the live listing for its current terms and features rather than assuming the two are the same service.
