Dreamborn is a classification of glimmers on Disney Lorcana cards: characters reimagined through Lorcana’s magic. Dreamborn.ink, by contrast, is a separate website for browsing and building decks, with a companion app advertised for scanning cards into a collection. The shared name is the source of the confusion.
What does Dreamborn mean in Disney Lorcana?
Disney describes Dreamborn cards as featuring glimmers “infused with Lorcana’s magic and reimagined in novel ways.” In other words, a Dreamborn card presents a character as a magical reimagining, rather than simply reproducing a familiar version.
Dreamborn is one of three labels used for glimmers in the game’s fiction:
- Storyborn: traditional versions of characters.
- Dreamborn: characters reimagined through Lorcana’s magic.
- Floodborn: Storyborn or Dreamborn glimmers transformed by a magical ink flood.
These labels describe character presentations on cards. Dreamborn is not a separate game, expansion, or deck-building feature. Disney’s Lorcana overview explains the classifications and draws on interviews with Ravensburger’s Ryan Miller and Naomi Kim.

What is Dreamborn.ink?
Dreamborn.ink is a deck-building website for Disney Lorcana. Its homepage offers deck browsing and creation, and describes a companion app that can scan cards and add them to a collection. It is distinct from the Dreamborn classification printed on cards.
| Name | What it is | What it refers to |
|---|---|---|
| Dreamborn | An in-game glimmer classification | Reimagined character cards |
| Dreamborn.ink | A separate website and advertised companion app | Deck building, deck browsing, and collection scanning |
The site’s homepage establishes those advertised functions, but does not establish its ownership, pricing, supported app platforms, privacy practices, or data-retention policies. No independent app accuracy or performance claim follows from the feature description.
How does Dreamborn fit into Lorcana?
Disney describes Lorcana as a trading card game set in a magical realm. Players take the role of Illumineers, use magical ink to summon glimmers, and compete to collect lore. Glimmers can represent characters, items, songs, or locations; the standard goal is to reach 20 lore before an opponent. See Disney’s getting-started guide for this basic game context.

Players use separate decks. Ravensburger’s quick-start guide says players can begin with a ready-to-play deck, modify one, or build their own. Dreamborn.ink’s deck tools are relevant to that deck-building activity; the Dreamborn card classification itself does not define a format or deck rule.

No. Dreamborn is a glimmer classification, while Dreamborn.ink is a deck-building site. Neither name identifies a Lorcana set or game mode. Lorcana does have distinct formats: for example, Core Constructed follows rotation and banned-card rules, while Infinity Constructed allows cards regardless of rotation. Pack Rush, Booster Draft, and Sealed Deck also use their own pack and deck requirements. The official Lorcana formats page describes those rules.
Set counts are time-sensitive and do not clarify what Dreamborn means. Disney’s 2025 getting-started article listed ten releases available at that time; a Disney+ article in 2026 described Wilds Unknown as the game’s 12th set. Those are dated release snapshots, not a current set total.
