The detailed childhood story often attached to Mira Shade—including her family tragedy, her friendship with Winston, and the ages at which she leaves and returns to the Academy—is fan-created lore, not established official Prodigy canon. A separate game-wiki account describes her as the Dark Tower’s guardian and final boss and reports dialogue about a powerful former Academy student who built the tower. Official Prodigy material describes the Dark Tower as a game area but does not provide Mira’s detailed biography.
What does the fanon backstory say?
The Prodigy Game Fanon Wiki presents Mira as an exceptionally powerful Academy student who is resented by other students. In that version of events, she leaves the Academy at age 10 and continues developing the Dark Tower.

The fanon account says that when Mira is 13, her mother is killed and her father becomes the Puppet Master before abandoning her. It describes Winston Von Loot as her only friend; the two create a home in Crystal Caverns and live there for three years. At 16, Mira returns to the Dark Tower and begins its test of trials.

What does the game-related account say?
A separate, secondary source, the Prodigy Game Wiki, describes Mira as the Dark Tower’s NPC guardian and final boss. It reproduces dialogue in which she tells the player about a powerful wizard who had been an Academy student, left to train alone, mastered the elements, and built a tower to test other wizards.
That reported story gives the tower a narrative origin, but the wiki’s summary does not establish that every detail is a definitive biography of Mira. It is also a secondary transcription, not an official Prodigy publication. The game-wiki account and the fanon biography should therefore be read as different kinds of claims, not combined into one canon history.

Which details are official Prodigy canon?
Official Prodigy pages describe the Dark Tower as a 100-story game area with opponents and rewards, and say access is associated with membership. They do not name Mira or substantiate the fanon biography’s family members, ages, friendship with Winston, Crystal Caverns history, or later role as a teacher.
That distinction matters: an official description of the setting does not verify a character history published on a fanon wiki. On the available evidence, Mira’s detailed personal backstory should be attributed to fanon, while her guardian and boss role and the tower-origin dialogue should be attributed to the game-related wiki’s account.
