Quarter Up is the name of Skybound’s internal game development studio. Skybound’s company page identifies it as the company’s first in-house studio and says it was fully operational in 2025. That company roadmap lists Invincible VS as a May 2026 milestone. For the game’s precise release date, Xbox’s launch announcement gives April 30, 2026.
Who is making Invincible VS?
Xbox says Quarter Up is led by former members of the core development team behind Killer Instinct (2013). That establishes a connection to the earlier fighting game’s core team, but does not identify every Quarter Up employee or establish a complete staff roster.

Invincible VS is Quarter Up’s debut title: a 3v3 tag fighting game based on the Invincible comic book and television series. Xbox describes its Story Mode as an original narrative; the available description does not identify it as a direct adaptation of one particular comic storyline.
What was included at launch?
In its April 30, 2026 launch article, Xbox reported an 18-character roster and four modes. It described Story Mode as a bonus playable episode set between later episodes of Season 3, with over 25 minutes of original cinematics.

Where did the game launch?
Xbox’s launch announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. It also describes Xbox Play Anywhere support. These are the platforms and features identified in that Xbox launch coverage.
What post-launch characters were announced?
At launch, Xbox described a Year 1 Character Pass planned to add four fighters, and said Universa and The Immortal were expected that summer. Those were plans stated in the April 30, 2026 announcement, not confirmation of the characters’ current release or availability.
