How does catching a Scroom work?
A catch has three distinct phases. Playing an instrument starts the encounter; tuning is a preparation step; and the catch zone is the active capture challenge. Completing one does not mean the others are complete.

1. Equip an instrument and attract a Scroom
Equip an instrument and play it to draw a Scroom toward you. The official description identifies the instrument as the way to begin an encounter. A beginner walkthrough reports that a new player receives a Wooden Lute early on, but follow the live game’s Quest Log and dialogue if the opening route has changed.
2. Tune before the Scroom commits
Before the Scroom commits, complete the tuning stage. The official description says that a higher Tune Speed makes tuning quicker; this affects the time spent in this stage, not the separate challenge of keeping the creature in the catch zone.

The available official description does not provide a universal key map or explain every tuning interface detail. An unofficial controls reference describes dragging a frequency slider during tuning. Treat that as provisional: use the prompts displayed in your game, particularly if you are playing on a different device.
3. Keep the Scroom inside the catch zone
During the catch, keep the creature’s marker inside the zone so the progress bar can fill. If the Scroom escapes the zone, progress drains. The capture is complete when the bar fills; the Roblox description puts it simply: “When the progress bar is full, the Scroom is yours!”

The unofficial controls reference says the tuning interaction uses a draggable frequency slider, the catch interaction uses a draggable creature marker, and Grove Statues use E on keyboard.
