The Bent Pack Trick is a Pokémon TCG Pocket rumor that choosing a booster pack with a visibly bent or creased corner on the carousel can improve your chance of getting rare cards. The evidence available does not establish that it works, so treat it as a visual superstition rather than a dependable way to improve your pulls.
What is the Bent Pack Trick?
Before opening a booster, players rotate the pack shown on the selection carousel and inspect its corners. The trick is to choose one that looks bent or creased, on the theory that the visual flaw signals better contents. It is also called the “Corner Pack Trick.” Coverage describes looking for a noticeable bend at one or both corners, or a slight crease near the top of the pack.

This refers to the pack image in the digital game. It is not a method involving physical Pokémon booster packs.
Does choosing a bent pack improve your odds?
No reliable evidence establishes that it does. Insider Gaming describes the theory as a myth. Radio Times reported opening three bent packs, with a four-diamond Moltres ex as the rarest pull; that small anecdotal sample cannot show whether bent packs change the odds.

A separate, indirect clue comes from Pokémon GO Hub’s account of a code-analysis video by RustyWolf. That account says the pack’s contents may be assigned when the player selects which booster type to open, before choosing a pack on the carousel. This is secondary reporting about a video, not official confirmation or independently verified proof of how the game works.
What has The Pokémon Company said?
Pokémon GO Hub reproduces a statement from Pokémon Company International that it says was given to Polygon: “While Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket draws inspiration from the experience of opening physical Pokémon TCG booster packs, we are unable to share specifics at this time”. The statement does not confirm or deny whether a bent corner affects a pack’s contents.

Where can you check the published pack odds?
Use the game’s in-app “Offering Rates” display for the published odds associated with a pack. A current numerical rate table was not verified in the available sources, so older figures should not be treated as current without checking the game.
What should you do when opening a pack?
If inspecting the carousel makes opening packs more fun, you can choose the pack that looks bent. Just do not rely on the appearance as a way to improve your chance of a rare card: the reported anecdotes do not prove an effect, code-analysis coverage is indirect, and the company statement leaves the mechanic unsettled.
