Which map should you choose?
GameSpot’s ranking gives Mob of the Dead the top spot, but its own descriptions point to different reasons to choose each of the leading maps:

- For noir atmosphere and audio: Shadows of Evil centers its appeal on Morg City, jazz, and storytelling.
- For map flow and elemental weapons: Der Eisendrache offers a castle setting and bows that GameSpot finds more approachable than Origins’ staffs.
- For a tougher, more involved challenge: Origins has demanding terrain and setup alongside its elemental staffs.
These are qualitative distinctions from one publication’s ranking, not measured comparisons. A player’s preferred map may depend on whether atmosphere, quest complexity, unusual mechanics, flow, or difficulty matters most.

For classic maps, Activision describes Zombies Chronicles as an eight-map remaster expansion for Black Ops III, available on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. Its official list includes Origins and Moon, as well as Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Kino Der Toten, Ascension, and Shangri-La. Mob of the Dead is not on that list. Activision lists Black Ops III as released November 6, 2015, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It also identifies Der Eisendrache, Gorod Krovi, and Revelations among that game’s Zombies DLC releases. More information is on Activision’s Black Ops III page.
