Name the game before choosing a precise setting; until then, use eDPI to understand the relationship and tune in small, consistent steps.
Why 1600 DPI does not give you one universal sensitivity
DPI is the sensitivity configured for your mouse sensor. An in-game sensitivity setting changes how that mouse input moves the camera or cursor, and the setting’s scale varies by game. A number that feels appropriate in one title may produce a very different result in another. Community discussions include different settings for games such as VALORANT, Overwatch, and Apex, but those examples are not interchangeable recommendations.
An anonymous commenter in a Mini Royale discussion put the point simply: “There is no set “best sens” on any game, just mess with your settings until you find something comfortable.” The comment appeared in a Reddit discussion about Mini Royale sensitivity; it is community opinion, not a scientific finding.
Use eDPI to describe a setting—not to compare every game
eDPI is calculated by multiplying mouse DPI by in-game sensitivity. For example, 1600 DPI × 0.5 in-game sensitivity = 800 eDPI. That is an arithmetic example, not a recommended setting. eDPI can help describe a setup within a game, but it does not make sensitivity values directly comparable across all games or guarantee the same turning distance.

CyberPost’s explanation of sensitivity for 1600 DPI describes this DPI-times-sensitivity calculation. The game’s implementation still matters when interpreting the result.
How to tune sensitivity when you have not settled on a number
- Choose a controllable starting point in the game you play. There is no evidence-backed universal starting number for 1600 DPI, so avoid copying a value from a different title.
- Test it in the same game and aiming mode. Hip-fire and scoped or aim-down-sights sensitivity may behave differently. Judge the mode you actually need rather than assuming one setting covers every situation.
- Make small changes, then evaluate consistently. Notice whether you can make precise corrections and also turn as broadly as the game requires. Change one setting at a time so you can tell what feels different.
- Account for your physical space. A slower sensitivity may require more mouse travel. Community advice sometimes recommends a large mousepad for broader movement, but this is anecdotal and does not establish that a larger pad improves aim.
This is a practical way to explore settings, not a proven formula or standardized test protocol. No scientifically optimal 1600-DPI value or controlled cross-game comparison is established by the available evidence.

What information is needed for a precise recommendation?
To suggest a specific in-game number, first identify the game. It also helps to know whether you mean hip-fire or scoped/ADS sensitivity, and whether your available mousepad space supports broad physical movement. Without the game, a precise value risks being misleading because the same sensitivity number can produce different behavior in different titles.
