Eldenpedia reports 20% physical damage reduction in PvE and 5% in PvP. It is defensive: it does not increase the physical damage you deal. If you mean damage dealt, the right talisman depends on your build and attack type.
Best talisman for physical damage negation
Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman is the top option among the four Dragoncrest Shield family talismans listed by Eldenpedia’s item reference. Its item description says it “Enormously boosts physical damage negation.” The reference reports a 20% reduction in PvE and 5% in PvP.
Those figures are community-reference values, not values verified here against official FromSoftware material or current patch notes. Treat them as reported figures rather than an official guarantee.
How the Dragoncrest Shield talismans compare
The four family variants are mutually exclusive, so you cannot equip more than one at a time. Choose the strongest version you have reached.

Where to find Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
The talisman is in a chest in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, a late-game area. The listed route begins at the Drainage Channel Site of Grace:

- From the Drainage Channel Site of Grace, follow nearby roots and branches toward the church roof.
- Drop through the opening in the roof and make your way across the rafters.
- Reach the upper platform and open the chest. Pests guard the area.
If you have not reached Elphael, use the strongest earlier Dragoncrest Shield variant available to you. The reference lists earlier versions near Bestial Sanctum, in Sainted Hero’s Grave, and in Crumbling Farum Azula.

Dragoncrest Greatshield reduces incoming physical damage; it does not boost your attacks. For offense, the available guide result identifies the Shard of Alexander as increasing weapon-skill attack power (Push Square’s Elden Ring talisman guide). That supports a recommendation for weapon skills, not a universal best talisman for every physical attack, weapon, or build.

Decide whether you want to reduce damage received or increase damage dealt. For defense, compare the Dragoncrest variant you can access and whether you are playing PvE or PvP; for offense, consider whether your build relies on weapon skills rather than assuming a skill-focused talisman boosts all attacks.
