The MAINGEAR APEX FORCE is a configurable full-tower gaming PC built around a custom dual-loop, open-loop liquid-cooling system. MAINGEAR specifies separate 420 mm radiators, each 60 mm thick, for the CPU and GPU. That design distinguishes it from a CPU-only closed-loop AIO, but it also means periodic coolant checks and maintenance. Current pricing and order availability were not verified; check MAINGEAR’s live configurator before deciding whether to buy.
What is the MAINGEAR APEX FORCE?
APEX FORCE is MAINGEAR’s configurable full-tower gaming desktop, aimed at players who want a premium system for competitive shooters, racing simulations, and open-world games. MAINGEAR says configurations draw from NVIDIA GeForce graphics and high-end Intel or AMD desktop processors. Exact parts and combinations depend on the live configurator, so those broad families do not guarantee that every CPU and GPU pairing is available.

The company describes a large chassis with tempered-glass panels, vertical airflow clearance, and diffused RGB lighting. Buyers can configure elements such as coolant, tubing, fittings, cables, and lighting. MAINGEAR advertises more than 10,000 aesthetic possibilities; that is a manufacturer customization claim, not an independently audited count. The company also describes its REDLINE overclocking service as available for AMD Ryzen 9000/9000X3D and second-generation Intel Core Ultra configurations; verify eligibility for a specific build in the configurator.

Is the APEX FORCE liquid cooling open-loop?
Yes. MAINGEAR describes APEX as a custom open-loop system that can cool both the CPU and GPU. In the APEX FORCE design, each component has a separate 420 mm radiator specified at 60 mm thick. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.
MAINGEAR attributes thermal headroom and quiet operation to the system, but the product information cited here does not establish independent temperature, acoustic, or comparative benchmark results. Treat those performance descriptions as the manufacturer’s claims rather than tested outcomes.

How does APEX open-loop cooling compare with air cooling and an AIO?
| Cooling type | What it cools | Loop design | Routine upkeep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air cooling | MAINGEAR describes fans and heatsinks; coverage depends on the system’s components. | No liquid loop. | MAINGEAR says it requires no routine maintenance. |
| CPU-only AIO | CPU, according to MAINGEAR’s comparison. | Closed-loop liquid cooler. | The cited comparison does not specify an upkeep interval. |
| APEX custom cooling | CPU and GPU. | Open-loop, with dedicated reservoirs and custom pumps. | Periodic coolant checks and top-offs as needed; MAINGEAR recommends a full flush every 12 months for best results. |
This comparison follows MAINGEAR’s support guide; it is the company’s framing of the cooling types, not an independent evaluation of every air cooler or AIO design.

How often does the APEX FORCE need coolant maintenance?
MAINGEAR’s general APEX maintenance guide says to monitor coolant levels periodically and top off when needed. It estimates that most users may need a top-off about once per year, depending on the reservoir level. For best results, it recommends draining and refilling the system every 12 months, while noting that usage can affect the interval.
For a top-off, the guide names distilled water or MAINGEAR High-Performance Coolant and cautions against mixing different PC-grade coolants with existing MAINGEAR coolant. It says clear or translucent coolant generally lasts longest and that MAINGEAR currently offers clear and translucent options. These instructions are from the general APEX guide, last updated September 30, 2025; confirm current directions for the exact system before servicing it.
