There is no single universal Bluetooth passkey for a PS3. Use the passkey or pairing procedure specified in the instructions for the device you are connecting; some devices do not require a passkey at all.
What passkey should you enter?
Sony’s PS3 User’s Guide describes a passkey as a hardware ID used to register, or pair, Bluetooth devices. It says some devices may not require one and directs users to the instructions supplied with their device. So if the PS3 asks for a passkey, enter the value specified for that particular device, or follow its stated pairing procedure. Do not assume a default code used by another device will work.
How to pair a Bluetooth device with a PS3
- Prepare the device for pairing according to its own instructions, and have its passkey or pairing procedure ready.
- On the PS3, go to Settings > Accessory Settings > Manage Bluetooth Devices > Register New Device > Start Scanning.
- Select your device from the scan results. Enter its passkey if the PS3 requests one.
Sony’s guide provides this registration path but does not give a universal fallback code or a general troubleshooting sequence. If pairing fails, check the device’s instructions to confirm it is in the required pairing mode and that you are using its specified passkey or procedure.
