Ubisoft has not named a rarest legacy Black Ice skin in Rainbow Six Siege, and it has not published drop rates, ownership counts, or a ranking for older Black Ice skins. The only official odds that separate one Black Ice color from another come from the Y11S1 Black Ice Packs. In those packs, pink is the least likely outcome: each pink weapon skin has a 0.71% chance, compared with 2.14% for each red, purple, or green weapon skin.
Two meanings of “rarest”
The question can mean two different things, and only one of them has official numbers behind it.
- Lower odds in a specific pack. This is a measurable chance that Ubisoft publishes for a particular pack and season. The current published figures cover the Y11S1 Black Ice Packs only.
- Scarcity across the whole collection. This depends on how many players own a skin, which depends on when and how it could be obtained over the years. Ubisoft has not published ownership data or a historical availability ranking for legacy Black Ice skins.
Read the answer below with that split in mind. For the new packs, pink is the least likely color. For older skins, no official ranking exists.
Pink is the least likely color in the Y11S1 Black Ice Packs
Ubisoft’s March 2, 2026 Black Ice Packs notice lists two packs available in Y11S1 as premium Battle Pass rewards. Each pack grants one colored Black Ice weapon skin. The color odds and per-weapon odds are:
#1 Best Overall
- TRIFORCE TITANIUM 50 MM DRIVERS — Our cutting-edge proprietary design divides the driver into 3 parts for the individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows—producing brighter, clearer audio with richer highs and more powerful lows
- HYPERCLEAR CARDIOID MIC — An improved pickup pattern ensures more voice and less noise as it tapers off towards the mic’s back and sides, with the sweet spot easily placed at the mouth because of the mic’s bendable design
- ADVANCED PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Sturdy closed earcups fully cover the ears to prevent noise from leaking into the headset, with its cushions providing a closer seal for more sound isolation
- LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN WITH MEMORY FOAM EAR CUSHIONS — At just 240 g, the headset features thicker headband padding and memory foam ear cushions with leatherette to keep gaming in peak form during grueling tournaments and training sessions
- WORKS WITH WINDOWS SONIC — Make the most of the headset’s powerful drivers by pairing it with lifelike surround sound that places audio with pinpoint accuracy, heightening in-game awareness and immersion
| Color | Chance of this color per pack | Chance per individual weapon skin |
|---|---|---|
| Pink | 10% | 0.71% |
| Red | 30% | 2.14% |
| Purple | 30% | 2.14% |
| Green | 30% | 2.14% |
Ubisoft states that every weapon within a color has an equal chance. The per-weapon figures follow from the color odds spread across the 14 weapons in the initial pool: 10% divided by 14 is about 0.71%, and 30% divided by 14 is about 2.14%. A pink skin for any single weapon is therefore roughly one-third as likely as a red, purple, or green skin for that same weapon.
These figures describe the Y11S1 pack pool only. They do not show that pink is the rarest Black Ice in the game overall, and they should not be applied to older pack drops.

What is in the Y11S1 pool
The initial collection covers 14 weapons in four colors, for a total of 56 weapon skins. Each of the following weapons appears in Pink, Red, Purple, and Green:
- 417
- AUG A3
- M12
- BOSG.12.2
- CAMRS
- AR-15.50
- ACS12
- M249
- SIX12
- DP27
- SMG-12
- SMG-11
- D-50
- C75 Auto
Ubisoft says the pool will increase during the year. Any weapon added later will change the per-weapon math, because the color odds would then be divided across a larger list. Check the current in-game pack details before relying on the 0.71% and 2.14% figures, which come from the March 2026 notice.

How to get the Y11S1 Black Ice Packs
- Source: Ubisoft’s notice confirms that both packs are premium Battle Pass exclusives in Y11S1. As of the March 3, 2026 Destructoid guide, the Battle Pass was the only way to obtain them.
- Unlock points: Destructoid’s guide says the first pack unlocks at Tier 2 and the second at Tier 100. Ubisoft’s notice does not list tier numbers, so treat these as the guide’s figures, not an official one.
- Duplicates: Ubisoft lists 15,000 Renown per duplicate.
Why there is no official legacy ranking
Ubisoft’s “Rarity System Update,” dated March 2, 2026, introduces a category framework that begins in Y11S1. It labels animated items and colored Black Ice as Legendary, and Black Ice as Epic. Ubisoft describes these as examples and says they could evolve. The update also states:
“This system will apply to all new content moving forward—and retroactively to existing items in your Locker.”

These labels sort items into categories. They do not rank one Black Ice weapon skin as harder to get than another. Ubisoft’s published material does not include legacy item-by-item odds, ownership rates, or a rarity list for older Black Ice skins, so any single legacy skin named as the rarest would be an unsupported claim.

A CyberPost article dated July 21, 2025 names Black Ice for the original SAS weapons, including the L85A2, AR33, FMG-9, and MP5K, as the rarest. The article attributes this to a legacy-pool effect and a “Phantom Board” theory. It also describes that theory as unconfirmed by Ubisoft and speculative. No official legacy odds or data support the ranking, so treat it as an unverified community claim rather than an answer.

How to judge any rarity claim about Black Ice
- Published odds for the exact pack and item: Ubisoft publishes these only for the Y11S1 packs, and only for color and per-weapon chance.
- Pool size and season: Check which weapons and colors are in the pool and which season the claim covers.
- Historical availability: Look for an official statement about when and how a skin could be acquired. For legacy Black Ice, none is available in Ubisoft’s published material.
- Source quality: Ubisoft data outranks guides, and guides outrank unsourced theories.
By this standard, the only defensible claim today is the one about the Y11S1 packs: pink is the least likely color, at 0.71% per weapon skin.
