World of Warcraft: Forever is Blizzard’s official upcoming game, not a fan-made server. The confusion comes from independent projects that use similar names: wowforever.info is a fan information site, while ForeverWoW describes itself as an unaffiliated fan server. They are separate from Blizzard’s game, accounts, client and launch schedule.
Blizzard describes its Forever as a permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW. It returns players to the original continents, follows the events of Warcraft III: Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom, and builds toward level 60 with new stories, experiences and updates. This guide explains how to identify the project a page is discussing and how the official game is expected to work.

World of Warcraft: Forever at a glance
| Project | Who operates it | What it is | Relationship with Blizzard | How access works |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| World of Warcraft: Forever | Blizzard Entertainment | An official World of Warcraft game announced as a new permanent home beside modern and Classic WoW | Official Blizzard product | World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time; optional upgrade editions are available |
| wowforever.info | Independent site operators | Fan information and guide site | The site says it is independent and unaffiliated | Read-only information site; it is not a Blizzard game client or account service |
| ForeverWoW | Independent server operators | English-language fan server project running on its own core | The project says it is a fan project unaffiliated with Blizzard | Its own client, account and server procedures, which do not provide access to Blizzard’s official game |
The name alone is not enough to identify a project. Check the operator, domain, account instructions and affiliation statement before downloading anything or entering credentials.

A permanent home separate from modern and Classic WoW
Blizzard positions Forever as another long-term version of World of Warcraft rather than a temporary event realm. Its announcement describes a “new permanent home” alongside the modern game and Classic WoW. That wording matters: Forever is intended to stand as its own official destination, with its own progression and future updates, instead of being a fan preservation project or a short promotional mode.
#1 Best Overall
- World of Warcraft Game
- Includes Expansion Packs: The Burnings Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria
- 30 days of free game time included
- Includes levels 1 through 90
- Subscription, Internet connection, and Battle.net registration required
Blizzard’s description is deliberately familiar. Players return to the original continents, but the setting is not simply a museum copy of an earlier release. The announcement places the game after the events of Warcraft III: Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, then describes new stories and experiences built around that point in the timeline. The announced progression target is level 60.
Launch timing and included access
Blizzard announced a global launch on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. Access is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time. Those are the base access terms in the announcement; buying an upgrade edition is not presented as a requirement to play.
The date, time and commercial terms are time-sensitive. Blizzard can revise schedules, regional availability or product wording, so confirm the current official announcement and Battle.net listing when you are ready to purchase or plan a launch session. The Pacific-time announcement is not a promise that every region will see the same local calendar date; convert it for your location using the currently posted schedule.

The available announcement establishes a level-60 journey, original-continent setting and additional stories, experiences and updates. It does not provide a complete class roster, raid list, profession system, balance model or endgame schedule. Treat detailed feature lists circulating on fan pages as speculation or pending information unless Blizzard has confirmed them.
This distinction is especially important for players deciding whether Forever is a recreation of a particular historical patch. Blizzard calls it familiar yet fresh, not a promise to reproduce every rule, item or encounter exactly as they existed in a past version. The announced identity is an official game that uses the original world as a foundation while adding new material.

Blizzard’s own description
“Built as a new permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW, World of Warcraft: Forever invites past, current, and new players into a familiar yet fresh Azeroth where the world takes center stage, community comes first, and the journey matters as much as the destination.”
That quotation is Blizzard’s marketing description, not an independent technical specification. It communicates the intended tone and positioning; it does not by itself confirm particular systems, performance levels or content quantities.

Blizzard lists two optional upgrade editions, the Skyborne Heroic Pack and Skyborne Epic Pack, plus a limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection. The announcement also mentions a physical Collector’s Edition sold through the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last.
| Edition or item | What the announcement establishes | Is it required for the base game? |
|---|---|---|
| World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time | Provides the announced access route to Forever | Yes, this is the stated base access method; the announcement does not describe a separate free-to-play route |
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | Optional upgrade edition; the supplied announcement summary does not list every included item | No |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | Includes beta access beginning September 17, 30 days of game time starting November 4, cosmetics and other extras | No |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | Limited-time collection that also includes Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign | No |
| Physical Collector’s Edition | Offered through the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last | No |
No prices are established in the available announcement summary, and the physical stock is explicitly limited. Do not assume that an upgrade contains permanent access beyond the game time specifically stated for the Epic Pack, or that a cosmetic bundle changes the level-60 progression.
Why readers mistake Forever for a fan-made project
“WoW Forever” is used informally by several communities. A search result can therefore combine Blizzard’s announcement with an independent guide, a private server discussion or an unrelated social account. Similar logos, abbreviations and screenshots can make the pages look connected even when their operators are different.
The decisive issue is control. Blizzard’s Forever is distributed through Blizzard’s normal World of Warcraft and Battle.net ecosystem. A fan guide publishes information but cannot grant official access. A fan server operates infrastructure outside Blizzard’s announced access path, even if it attempts to recreate a familiar version of Azeroth.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Do not infer endorsement from a fan site repeating Blizzard news. The independent guide says it treats published Blizzard announcements as confirmed and labels unreleased details as pending; that is an editorial policy of the guide, not a Blizzard partnership.
What wowforever.info is
wowforever.info describes itself as an independent fan and information site, unaffiliated with Blizzard. Its purpose is to collect explanations, news and pending details for readers interested in Forever. It is not the official game portal, does not replace a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time, and should not be treated as proof that an unreleased feature exists.
How to use an independent guide responsibly
- Use it to understand terminology, follow community discussion and find summaries of published announcements.
- Look for a clear label distinguishing confirmed Blizzard information from pending or speculative material.
- Verify launch dates, beta eligibility, edition contents and account instructions against Blizzard before acting.
- Do not enter Battle.net credentials into a page merely because it uses “Forever” in its name.
What ForeverWoW is
ForeverWoW describes itself as an English-language fan project that runs on its own core and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment. Its statements about a client, accounts, beta access or server rules refer to that independent server project. They are not instructions for installing or accessing Blizzard’s official Forever.
A private or fan server can have different content, progression, uptime, moderation, security practices and account policies. The supplied information does not establish feature parity with Blizzard’s game, legal status, long-term availability or technical performance. Do not assume that a character, subscription or purchase on one project carries over to the other.

Never confuse a server client with the official game
If a page tells you to download a special client, create a separate account or connect to a custom realm address, you are dealing with that project’s access method, not Blizzard’s announced process. The official announcement instead points players toward a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time and Blizzard’s own distribution channels.
How to identify which “Forever” a page means
- Read the operator statement. Blizzard’s announcement identifies the official game. The fan guide and ForeverWoW each identify themselves as independent.
- Check the access path. Subscription or Game Time through Blizzard indicates the official product. A custom client, server address or separate account indicates an independent server.
- Check the language around affiliation. “Unaffiliated” means the project is not speaking for Blizzard and should not be presented as endorsed.
- Separate confirmed announcements from predictions. A guide may summarize Blizzard while marking unreleased systems as pending. Pending information is not a launch promise.
- Inspect the requested download. Do not use a fan server client as a substitute for the official Battle.net installation, and do not assume a download is safe simply because its page uses familiar Warcraft terminology.
- Match the claims to the source. Blizzard establishes the official launch, editions and subscription access. A fan server establishes only what its own operators say about their project.
How to prepare for the official launch
The official route is intentionally straightforward, but the timing and edition choices deserve care.
- Use a Blizzard account and the official World of Warcraft ecosystem. Avoid entering credentials on similarly named fan pages.
- Arrange a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time. The announcement identifies either as the access method for Forever.
- Choose an upgrade only for its extras. The Skyborne packs and Warcraft Forever Collection are optional. Select one for its listed cosmetics, beta access, game time or included Warcraft III content, not because you believe it unlocks a required version of Forever.
- Check the current launch notice. The announced global launch is November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. Recheck the official page for any change before launch day and convert the time for your region.
- Review edition details at checkout. Confirm whether game time is one-time, whether beta access is included, and whether a physical Collector’s Edition is still in stock. The Epic Pack’s announced 30 days of game time start on November 4; do not generalize that benefit to every edition.
- Install only through Blizzard’s current distribution instructions. A fan server client or custom launcher is not part of the official access process.
Controller support: what is known and unknown
A Blizzard What’s Next panel recap says Forever includes official gamepad support. That is useful for players who prefer a controller, but the available announcement summary does not identify tested controller models, operating-system requirements or a complete setup procedure.
Plan around the capability rather than a specific accessory. Check the current in-game settings and Blizzard support information after installation, connect the controller before changing bindings, and keep keyboard-and-mouse input available for account, chat or troubleshooting tasks. Do not treat a third-party compatibility list as an official guarantee unless Blizzard publishes it.
Common situations and the correct response
“This fan guide says a feature is coming. Is it confirmed?”
Only Blizzard can confirm features for the official game. If the guide labels the item pending, read it as community tracking rather than a commitment. Compare it with the latest Blizzard announcement before planning a character, guild or purchase around it.

“A Forever page asks me to create a new account. Should I use my Blizzard login?”
No. A fan server’s account system belongs to that project. Never reuse a Blizzard password on an unrelated site, and do not assume a server operator can validate or protect your Blizzard account.
“Can I use a ForeverWoW client to play Blizzard’s Forever?”
No. The projects have separate operators and access methods. The fan server’s client connects to its own infrastructure; it is not Blizzard’s official client.
“Do I need the Epic Pack to join the official game?”
No. Blizzard lists Subscription or Game Time as the access route and presents the upgrade editions as optional. The Epic Pack adds beta access beginning September 17, 30 days of game time starting November 4, cosmetics and other extras, but those additions do not make it a prerequisite for base access.

“Is the Collector’s Edition guaranteed to be available?”
No. Blizzard says the physical edition is sold through the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last. Availability and ordering details can change, so confirm the current listing rather than relying on an old announcement or a marketplace description.
What is not established yet
Readers should resist filling gaps with assumptions. The announced material does not establish pricing for the subscription, Game Time or upgrade packs; a full item-by-item contents list for every edition; the complete class, race, profession or raid lineup; hardware specifications; supported controller models; regional launch exceptions; or a guarantee that fan-server content will resemble Blizzard’s version.
Those omissions do not make the official announcement vague about its central identity. They mean that detailed planning should wait for the relevant Blizzard pages and patch notes instead of treating community predictions as settled facts.
Bottom line for players
Use “World of Warcraft: Forever” for Blizzard’s official game when the page discusses the permanent home alongside modern and Classic WoW, the announced level-60 journey, Blizzard’s November 4, 2026 launch or access through Subscription and Game Time. Use “fan guide” for wowforever.info and “fan server” for ForeverWoW. Both are independent projects, and neither should be presented as Blizzard’s service or used as a route to the official game.
