Minecraft Live 2024 revealed two Game Drops: Bundles of Bravery, pairing portable inventory bundles with Hardcore Mode in Bedrock Edition, and a later, unnamed-at-the-time drop centered on the Pale Garden biome and its hostile Creaking mob. The announcements came during the September 28, 2024 event; the second drop’s name and release timing were not established in the event report.
What were the two Minecraft updates announced?
The September 28, 2024 Minecraft Live introduced two distinct Game Drops. The first, Bundles of Bravery, focused on carrying items and a demanding Bedrock survival option. The second, which had no official name at announcement, introduced a new biome, its materials, and a look-away-based monster. Windows Central’s event report described Bundles of Bravery as the nearer-term drop and the Pale Garden drop as later, but that 2024 framing is not a current release schedule.

What was Bundles of Bravery?
Bundles for carrying items
Bundles were presented as portable containers that help manage items through the inventory. The event report says they are crafted with leather and web and can be dyed. The announcement framed them as an inventory feature, rather than a separate mode or biome.
Hardcore Mode in Bedrock Edition
The drop also brought Hardcore Mode to Bedrock Edition. It was described as a single-life challenge: if the player dies, that world ends and they must start over. That makes it a difficulty choice with a lasting consequence, unlike bundles, which address item carrying.

What are the Pale Garden and the Creaking?
The Pale Garden biome
The Pale Garden was presented as a quiet, desaturated Overworld biome. Its distinctive materials include Pale Oak trees, Pale Hanging Moss, and Pale Moss Carpet. At night, ambient sounds and the Creaking change the atmosphere from subdued exploration to a more threatening encounter.
The Creaking’s look-away rule
The Creaking is a hostile mob described as appearing in the Pale Garden at night and blending into Pale Oak. Its defining behavior is that it moves only when the player looks away. Attacking the mob directly does not defeat it: the player has to find and destroy the nearby Creaking Heart connected to it. The event report also says a Silk Touch pickaxe can collect the Heart block, so it can be placed elsewhere.

How did the reveals fit Mojang’s 2024 update plans?
In September 2024, Mojang had announced a direction toward more frequent content updates and a more focused Minecraft Live format held twice yearly. The two Game Drops were consistent with a presentation organized around smaller, more frequent releases. That is historical context about the studio’s stated direction at the time, not confirmation of its current update or event cadence. Windows Central’s September 9, 2024 report covered that announcement.

Minecraft Live 2024 aired on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 1 p.m. ET, according to the event-day report. The two Game Drops discussed here are therefore announcements from that event, not a claim about the next updates arriving now.
