Battlestate Games leader Nikita Buyanov described the fight against cheating in Escape from Tarkov as “hard and neverending” in a social media post dated July 16, 2025. Insider Gaming reported that the post followed the removal of more than 2,000 cheaters in just over a week. That is a reported enforcement count, not a measure of how many players cheat.
What did Nikita say about cheating in Tarkov?
In the July 16, 2025 post, Buyanov praised the team’s anti-cheat work, writing: “this fight is hard and neverending. My props to our team related to that!” The wording and context were reproduced in Insider Gaming’s July 18, 2025 report.
The remark acknowledges that enforcement is difficult and ongoing. It does not say that Battlestate Games has solved the problem or provide a measure of cheating across raids or the player base.
How many cheaters did Battlestate remove?
Insider Gaming reported that more than 2,000 cheaters were removed from Escape from Tarkov in just over a week, in the context of Buyanov’s post. The report does not describe an independent audit or explain how the count was calculated, so it should be treated as a reported enforcement figure.
#1 Best Overall
- Exclusive Top Customs design – crafted to closely resemble Tagilla’s in-game appearance with premium attention to detail
- Made from durable hard PVC, NOT 3D printed, using high-quality injection molding for a clean, professional finish
- Perfect for collection and display alongside your Tarkov gear or gaming setup!
- Ideal gift for your squadmates, friends, boyfriends/girlfriends
- A must-have for Tarkov fans. Whether you’re messing around in the hideout or building the ultimate 'Chad' loadout, this collectible hits hard.
A removal total cannot show what proportion of players cheat: it gives no denominator, and it does not measure the number of affected raids. The figure also does not establish that every suspected player was cheating.
Was a new anti-cheat system announced?
Insider Gaming also reported that Buyanov said a kernel-level anti-cheat system was in research and development at Battlestate Games. The report noted that the game already used BattlEye. The R&D comment does not confirm that a new system was released, whether it was proprietary, or what its development status is now. Read the report’s coverage of the anti-cheat comments.

How does this compare with Buyanov’s 2023 comments?
In a separate Reddit statement covered by PCGamesN on February 26, 2023, Buyanov said, “right now we ban several thousand cheaters a day.” The report described his comments about bans occurring in waves, BattlEye updates, and additional detection and reporting tools; it also presented cheat detection as an ongoing arms race. PCGamesN’s report quotes his broader appeal to players to report suspected cheaters.
That was a claim reported in 2023, not a current ban rate. It is distinct from the 2025 report of more than 2,000 removals in just over a week, and neither figure establishes the overall prevalence of cheating.

What the reports establish—and what they do not
- Buyanov praised the team’s efforts in a July 16, 2025 post and called the fight “hard and neverending,” as reported by Insider Gaming.
- The same report associated the post with more than 2,000 removals in just over a week, but supplied no independent audit or method for that count.
- Coverage mentioned a kernel-level system in R&D alongside BattlEye, but does not establish that a new system shipped or give its current status.
- The 2023 “several thousand cheaters a day” figure is a separate historical statement, not a present-day rate.
The reports do not establish an independently measured current cheating rate for Escape from Tarkov.
