Rockstar gives November 19, 2026 as the release date on its Newswire announcement and official product pages. That date applies to the two announced console platforms. No separate PC date is listed.
Pre-loading begins November 12
Rockstar’s support information says pre-loading begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. “Local midnight” means the start time is tied to the territory and platform account where the game is being redeemed, rather than one universal global clock. Check the platform’s own store page near launch for the exact countdown shown for your account.
The boxed version contains a download code, not a disc
Rockstar describes the physical version as a code-in-box product. The box does not contain a game disc; it contains a code used to claim the digital download. Rockstar says physical copies are expected to be available for retailer shipping and pickup starting November 12, 2026, so buyers can obtain the code in time for pre-loading.

This format matters if you are expecting to install from optical media, lend a disc, or resell a disc after finishing the game. A code-in-box purchase is tied to code redemption and the applicable platform account instead.
How the code-in-box format affects your purchase
- Confirm the platform. A PS5 code is not a substitute for an Xbox Series X|S edition. Match the box to the console on which you intend to play.
- Check the territory before buying. Rockstar states that code redemption and regional restrictions vary by platform and country. Make sure the code’s region matches your platform account; a code bought for another market may not redeem on your account.
- Redeem the code through the platform account. The code is used for the digital download, so the account and console store handle the entitlement and download rather than a disc drive.
- Use the November 12 pre-load window. If the retailer provides the code in time, redeeming it before launch can allow the download to begin during the announced pre-loading period.
Retail delivery timing is separate from the November 19 play date. Rockstar’s statement about shipping and pickup beginning November 12 describes expected retailer availability; it does not guarantee that every retailer, region, or order will hand over a code at the same moment.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
PC is not listed in the current Rockstar platform information. As of October 13, 2026, the accurate answer is that Rockstar has not officially announced PC availability in the materials currently published for Grand Theft Auto VI.

What are GTA 6’s PC system requirements?
There are no official PC system requirements to quote at present. Rockstar has not published minimum or recommended figures for a processor, graphics card, memory, storage, operating system, or target resolution and frame rate in the current platform materials. It has also not published a PC benchmark or a PC release window.
Consequently, any precise specification circulating as a “GTA 6 requirement” should be treated as unofficial unless Rockstar publishes it. Do not turn a rumor, a retailer listing, or a guess based on another game into a requirement. Grand Theft Auto V’s old PC specifications and requirements from other Rockstar releases cannot establish what Grand Theft Auto VI will need.
Why you should not infer requirements from console information
The fact that the announced console versions target PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S does not provide a reliable translation into a PC processor or graphics-card model. Console hardware is a fixed platform with a known software environment; PC performance depends on combinations of components, operating-system configuration, drivers, settings, and desired frame rate. A confirmed fact is that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are announced for November 19, 2026. A prediction about a future PC edition is not a release announcement. Keep those categories separate when deciding whether to buy a console, upgrade a computer, or wait.
Use Rockstar’s platform pages as the change point
When Rockstar publishes a PC edition, look for an explicit platform listing, a release date or window, and a dedicated requirements page. Until those appear, there is no official basis for selecting a graphics card, processor, memory capacity, or operating system specifically for GTA 6.
