Yes, in the broad sense: Vice City is GTA VI’s fictional take on Miami, within a wider Florida-inspired setting called Leonida. Rockstar’s official GTA VI page names Leonida and Vice City as the setting, but it does not certify individual real-world counterparts. The landmark identifications below come from press reporting and editorial analysis.

The distinction matters because GTA VI appears to combine recognizable South Florida scenery with altered geography. Daniel Ciraldo, executive director of the Miami Design Preservation League, told Axios: “I must say the depictions are pretty exciting, it looks like they took the best of South Florida from the Everglades to South Beach and everything in between.” He also noted that “some buildings are out of order or on the wrong block!”
Which GTA 6 locations resemble real places?
GTABase’s October 3, 2026 comparison maps several fictional Leonida locations to Florida places and landmarks. These are interpretations of visible similarities, not Rockstar-confirmed matches.

How certain are the comparisons?
Confidence varies with the kind of evidence. A recognizable building in a trailer is a more direct visual comparison than matching a fictional town to a broad economic region. Even then, visual resemblance does not establish that Rockstar intended a precise copy.
- Strongest visual grounding: the Ocean Beach/South Beach comparison has named hotels and an addressable landmark identified in both GTABase’s comparison and Axios’s trailer reporting.
- Regional inspiration: the Keys and Everglades comparisons rest on geography and landscape features rather than a claim that the game reproduces the real places exactly.
- More interpretive matches: Ambrosia/Clewiston and Port Gellhorn/Panama City are argued parallels, not official identifications.
- Community speculation: GTABase describes Mount Kalaga as a community comparison with Providence Canyon, not Rockstar’s official word, and mentions alternative topographic interpretations. It should not be presented as a confirmed map match.
Neither consulted source provides a measured similarity score or percentage. The evidence supports recognizing Florida inspirations and specific visual echoes, not quantifying how closely Leonida reproduces the state.

What Rockstar has officially confirmed
Rockstar identifies Leonida as the fictional setting and Vice City as a central location. Its official page lists GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of November 19, 2026. Those are official game details; the page does not validate the individual Florida comparisons above.
