Rockstar’s Vice City Collection costs £349.99 in the UK, but it does not include Grand Theft Auto VI. It is a merchandise box; Rockstar says the game is sold separately. At the UK price Push Square lists for GTA VI’s Standard Edition, £69.99, the box costs about five times as much as the game. That comparison captures the immediate outlay, but it is not proof that collector’s editions have become five times more expensive: the products contain different things.
What is the Vice City Collection?
Rockstar calls it the “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” and describes it as a premium, limited-edition collectible set inspired by the fictional TV show Macca the Gator. The official store lists 11 pieces of merchandise:
- Macca the Gator figure
- Oakley Frogskins sunglasses
- Leonida Keys crossbody bag
- New Era 9FORTY snapback hat
- Macca magnetic mirror
- Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
- Vice City swizzle spoon
- Razor-blade-style keychain
- Enamel pin set
- Sticker pack
- Double-sided Leonida map poster
Rockstar’s product copy calls it “A premium Collector’s Box featuring all the essentials for a good time, inspired by Leonida’s hit TV show, Macca the Gator.” Rockstar Store lists the purchase note: “Note: Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately.”
What does £349.99 buy—and what does it leave out?
Push Square reports the Vice City Collection at £349.99 in the UK. Its listing for GTA VI’s UK Standard Edition gives a price of £69.99. The collection is therefore roughly five times that listed game price, but the comparison is between a merchandise set and a game, not two editions of the same bundle. Push Square’s GTA VI listing

That distinction matters because “collector’s box” can sound like a collector’s edition of the game. Rockstar’s naming and purchase note make the arrangement clear: this box is merchandise, and buying it alone does not buy the game. Someone who wants both should account for the game separately.
There is also a difference between a physical package and a disc. Rockstar Support says the Standard Edition includes the game, but its physical version is a download code in a box, not a disc. In other words, the merchandise collection does not include the game, while the physical Standard Edition package also does not mean a disc is included. Rockstar Support

How does this compare with GTA V’s Collector’s Edition?
Take-Two’s 2013 announcement priced the US Grand Theft Auto V Collector’s Edition at $149.99. It included the full retail game, physical extras and digital content. The Vice City Collection is different in both price context and design: Rockstar’s current box is merchandise with the game sold separately. Take-Two’s 2013 announcement
This is a useful contrast in how a high-end GTA product is packaged, not a like-for-like price comparison. The older price is in US dollars, the current price is in pounds, and the older bundle included the game while the current one does not. The available figures do not establish a comparable UK price for the 2013 edition, so they cannot show how much a matched product’s price has risen.

Does this prove gaming is getting more expensive?
It shows that one prominent game franchise is offering a £349.99 merchandise collection on top of a separately priced game. That makes the potential outlay for fans who want both clear, and it illustrates a split between buying the game and buying premium branded collectibles.
It does not establish an industry-wide trend in game prices or a real-terms rise in collector’s editions. To make a fair historical price comparison, the products would need to be comparable in what they include, and the prices would need to be in a common currency and adjusted on an appropriate basis. The Bank of England’s calculator uses ONS CPI data from 1988 onward and describes its figures as approximate guides to UK purchasing power, with longer comparisons less accurate; it cannot supply a missing matched UK price for the 2013 GTA V set.
