The report compared it to Halo’s Warthog, but neither Arrowhead’s confirmation nor a release date for that vehicle was established. Later official vehicle updates show that vehicles became part of the game; they do not verify that the old footage depicted a final or released model.
What the leak report said
Insider Gaming reported on March 1, 2024, that a video posted by GameOverDeo showed vehicles, weapons and mechs in greater detail. Its description of the vehicle was specific in one respect: a driver and a second player manning a mounted machine gun. The Warthog comparison was a way to describe the apparent arrangement, not evidence that the design was inspired by Halo.
The report said the timing of an update was unclear. It was a news account of user-posted footage, not an Arrowhead announcement. The footage’s authenticity, the game build it came from and whether it represented final gameplay were not established. Insider Gaming’s March 1, 2024 report
What later official updates confirm—and what they do not
Arrowhead’s later patch notes document vehicle-related changes, including FRV adjustments. September 2026 notes also mention GATER changes, FRV fixes and vehicle delivery shuttles. Those notes establish that vehicle content was present in the game; they do not connect those features to the vehicle in the 2024 leak or confirm that the leaked footage was genuine. PlayStation’s Helldivers 2 page lists the game for PS5 and PC; Arrowhead’s patch notes and announcements provide the later vehicle context.

How the story developed
- March 1, 2024: Insider Gaming described the GameOverDeo video and the driver-and-gunner vehicle; its report did not give a release window.
- December 22, 2025: VideoGamer reported comments from design director Niklas Malmborg about experiments to expand vehicle gameplay and the possibility of bringing back some vehicles from the first Helldivers. The report did not present a particular returning vehicle or feature as guaranteed. VideoGamer’s coverage
- July 23, 2026: Arrowhead announced that the M-103 Supply FRV would become permanently unlockable with Requisition Slips in October 2026. This was a dated publisher announcement, not a statement about the 2024 leak. Check the live game for availability. Arrowhead’s Steam announcements
- August 12, 2026: Arrowhead community manager Mitch Ayre discussed the Devoid of Liberty update and SEAF squad interactions in an Xbox Wire article. That coverage did not confirm the old footage. Xbox Wire’s update coverage
Leak report versus confirmed vehicle content
| Question | 2024 leak report | Later official material |
|---|---|---|
| Source and date | Insider Gaming report about a GameOverDeo-posted video, March 1, 2024. | Arrowhead patch notes and a July 23, 2026 Steam announcement. |
| Certainty | Reported footage; authenticity, build and finality were not established. | Official notes and announcement confirm vehicle-related game content, but do not authenticate the old footage. |
| Vehicle role | The report described a driver and a second player on a mounted machine gun. | The cited official material documents FRV and GATER changes, fixes and vehicle delivery shuttles; it does not specify that same driver-and-gunner arrangement. |
| Availability | No arrival date was established. | Arrowhead said the M-103 Supply FRV would become permanently unlockable with Requisition Slips in October 2026; check the live game to confirm availability. |
Bottom line
The leak story is useful as a record of what a 2024 report said the footage appeared to show—not as proof of a confirmed vehicle design or launch plan. Official vehicle content arrived later, but the available official material does not identify it as the vehicle from that video.
