The Camera in ARC Raiders is an in-game Quick Use gadget for taking photos and selfies. You need one when a quest or project includes a photo objective; you do not need a real-world camera or special hardware. For the current Sizing Things Up quest, use the Basic Camera to photograph the lower part of the fallen Emperor’s leg from the bridge directly east of Old Town.
What the Camera is for
The Camera is a gameplay item, not a menu-only photo mode. Equip it as a Quick Use gadget, activate it during a raid, and use it when the current objective asks you to document something. Its clearest uses are quest photographs and selfies.

The Basic Camera is listed as an Uncommon Gadget. It covers the documented photo and selfie functions needed by current objectives. The Advanced Camera is a Rare Quick Use gadget described as doing everything the Basic Camera does “and more.” The available item description does not identify the additional function, so there is no confirmed basis for assuming better zoom, image quality, scouting, or combat value.

Basic Camera and Advanced Camera compared
| Item | Rarity | Documented function | Purchase option | Crafting requirement | Other acquisition |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Camera | Uncommon | Takes pictures and selfies | Shani lists it for 1,920 coins, with three listed per day | Workbench 1: 8 Plastic Parts and 1 Wire | Scavenging; granted by Sizing Things Up and Taking Stock |
| Advanced Camera | Rare | Performs the Basic Camera’s functions “and more”; the extra function is not specified in the documented description | Shani lists it for 3,000 coins, with three listed per day | Utility Station 1, a learned blueprint, 1 Camera Lens, 1 Calculator and 1 Electrical Components | Free Reward Pass |
The Basic Camera is therefore the practical choice for a known photo objective. The Advanced Camera costs more and has a higher rarity, but its specific advantage is not established by the item reference. Check its current in-game description before spending materials or coins solely to obtain an upgrade.
How to get a Camera
Check quest rewards first
If you accepted Sizing Things Up or Taking Stock, inspect your inventory before buying or crafting anything. Those quests are listed as sources of a Basic Camera, so the item may already be available when you need it.
Scavenge a Basic Camera
Scavenging is an alternative to spending crafting materials or coins. The item reference confirms scavenging as an acquisition route, but does not define a guaranteed location or drop rate. Treat a found Camera as a useful reserve for later photo objectives.

Craft the Basic Camera
Crafting the Basic model requires Workbench 1, 8 Plastic Parts and 1 Wire. If you are preparing for a quest and do not have the item, compare those materials with Shani’s current listing before committing resources.
Buy from Shani
Shani’s listing gives the Basic Camera a price of 1,920 coins and shows three copies per day. The Advanced Camera is listed for 3,000 coins, also with three copies per day. These are in-game item values; availability can change with the trader’s daily stock.

Craft or claim the Advanced Camera
The Advanced model requires a learned blueprint and a Utility Station 1, plus a Camera Lens, Calculator and Electrical Components. It is also listed as a Free Reward Pass item. Because the documented description does not explain what “and more” means, obtaining it is a progression choice rather than a requirement for the known Emperor photograph.
When to use the Camera
Use the Camera only after an active objective calls for a photograph, unless you are taking a personal selfie. The objective text is the authority for what must appear in the frame. Read it before entering the area, then keep the Camera in an accessible Quick Use slot so you do not have to search your inventory at the target.
- Open your inventory and confirm that the Camera is present before deploying.
- Read the exact subject named by the objective; a nearby landmark may not satisfy it.
- Move to the stated location and frame the requested part of the subject.
- Take the picture, then verify that the objective registers before leaving the area.
If an objective supplies a map marker, use that marker together with the written description. The Camera’s item page does not document a universal range, zoom level, or special aiming rule, so do not rely on an assumed camera mode.
How to complete Sizing Things Up
Sizing Things Up is the best-known example of when the Camera matters. Celeste’s acceptance dialogue says: “Do some reconnaissance around that fallen Emperor, see that you stay safe.” The quest grants a Basic Camera, and its photo objective concerns the fallen Emperor near Old Town.
1. Accept the quest and check your inventory
After accepting the quest, look for the Basic Camera before purchasing or crafting one. The quest listing identifies the Camera as a reward, so spending resources immediately may be unnecessary.

2. Travel to the bridge east of Old Town
The photo location is the bridge directly east of Old Town. A walkthrough published by PC Gamer on 8 October 2026 identifies this bridge as the required position, rather than a generic view of the Emperor from elsewhere in the district.
3. Aim at the lower leg
Frame the lower portion of the fallen Emperor’s leg. The objective is not described as a photograph of the whole body or the surrounding bridge; the walkthrough specifically directs players toward the lower leg.
4. Take and confirm the photograph
Activate the Basic Camera from its Quick Use slot and take the picture while the lower leg is in view. Wait for the quest objective to update before moving on. If it does not register, reposition on the same bridge, keep the lower leg as the dominant subject, and try again rather than traveling to an unrelated landmark.
Other photo objectives
Photo tasks are not limited to Sizing Things Up. An Arc Raiders Community update summary, citing Embark Studios’ Frozen Trail – 2.0 Update dated 8 October 2026, lists a photograph of the farmland house for the Outpost unlock project. It also lists photo objectives in Battening Down, Groundbreaking, Life of a Pharmacist, Reduced to Rubble and The League.
That summary does not provide every location or the exact framing requirement for those objectives. For each one, follow the current objective text and map marker in your game. Project and quest behavior can be patch-sensitive, so an older location guide may not match the live version after an update.

Which Camera should you carry?
Choose Basic for a specific quest
Carry the Basic Camera when your immediate goal is a documented photograph such as the Emperor’s leg. It is the model directly tied to the known quest reward, has the lower listed purchase price, and has a straightforward Workbench 1 recipe.
Consider Advanced only for broader progression
The Advanced Camera is worth considering if you already have its blueprint and materials, want to claim it through the Free Reward Pass, or expect to use whatever additional function its current description reveals. The available reference does not establish that it improves ordinary photographs, so buying it solely for Sizing Things Up is unsupported.
Keep a spare when several objectives are active
If multiple quests or projects in your journal request photographs, retaining one Camera in storage can prevent a return trip to Shani or a crafting stop. The item references do not state that a Camera is consumed by taking a picture, so do not discard it merely because one objective is complete; check the item behavior in your current build.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common problems and fixes
The Camera is not in the inventory
Recheck the rewards for Sizing Things Up and Taking Stock, then inspect storage as well as your carried items. If neither quest supplied one, use scavenging, the Workbench 1 recipe, or Shani’s listing for the Basic model.
The photo does not count
Return to the wording of the objective. For Sizing Things Up, stand on the bridge east of Old Town and keep the lower leg in frame. A picture of the whole Emperor, a different body part, or a view from another bridge may not meet the stated requirement.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
The target is difficult to see
Use the map marker and the physical landmark together. The documented walkthrough identifies the bridge’s position, while the quest text identifies the lower leg. Adjust your position on that bridge until the requested section is clearly visible, then take another picture.
You are unsure which model is required
The known photo objectives are described with the Basic Camera, and the Advanced Camera is documented as including the Basic functions. Unless a quest specifically names a model, use the Basic Camera for a normal photo objective and consult the live item description for any Advanced-only requirement.
What is confirmed about the Advanced Camera
The Advanced Camera is Rare, can be bought from Shani, can be crafted at Utility Station 1 with a learned blueprint and the listed components, and appears on the Free Reward Pass. Its documented wording says it can do everything the Basic Camera can do “and more.” No specific extra capability is identified in that reference. Claims that it zooms farther, produces higher-quality images, scans enemies, or helps in combat go beyond the documented information.

Bottom line for Raiders
The Camera is a quest utility, not a combat gadget. For Sizing Things Up, use the Basic Camera from the bridge directly east of Old Town and photograph the fallen Emperor’s lower leg. For other projects, bring a Camera whenever the active objective requests a picture, verify the exact subject and location, and avoid paying for the Advanced model until its current extra function is clear.
