Reports said leaked Game Freak data included material related to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but the reported game files were not authenticated as content from the final release. Game Freak confirmed a 2024 server breach and exposure of employee information; that confirmation does not verify every game file later described as leaked.

What Game Freak confirmed about the 2024 breach

Game Freak said a third party gained unauthorized access to a company server in August 2024 and that employee information was leaked. Le Monde reported that the company did not confirm whether game-related materials circulating online were accurate. Le Monde’s report distinguishes the confirmed security incident from the unverified game material.

Le Monde also reported Game Freak’s estimate that personal details connected to 2,600 current and former employees or contractors were compromised. The information reportedly included names, postal addresses and email addresses; this is the company’s reported estimate, not an independently audited count. Le Monde

What was reported about the Legends: Z-A files

In October 2025, GamesRadar reported that more than 70 GB of information said to relate to Pokémon Legends: Z-A was circulating. The report described claims that the material included a Pokédex and in-development builds. It also said it was unclear how much, if any, of the material still pertained to the final game. These are descriptions of alleged leaked files, not an item-by-item confirmation from Game Freak. GamesRadar’s October 2025 report

GamesRadar said the material was alleged to be leftover data from the 2024 breach. That connection was reported, not an official attribution of each file to the breach. In coverage of a separate alleged attack, Nintendo said it had not confirmed leaks of personal, development or business information. GamesRadar’s report on Nintendo’s response

Are the Z-A leaks real?

The breach itself was confirmed, and the alleged Z-A dump was reported by GamesRadar. The available reporting does not establish the authenticity of each file or which rumored development details appear in the released game. Treat specific claims about unreleased content as unverified unless they are confirmed through official game materials.
