In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Celeste visits between 7 p.m. and 4 a.m. island time, according to the most recent guide consulted, Nintendo Life’s Celeste timing guide dated January 22, 2026. Island time follows the date and clock set on your Nintendo Switch, so if you are searching at a time that seems wrong, check the console’s settings before anything else. Older published schedules give a slightly different end time, covered below.
Celeste’s visiting window
Search the island at night, starting at 7 p.m. and continuing until 4 a.m. Nintendo Life’s guide ties her appearance to clear nights when a meteor shower is possible. Nintendo’s own support material says the game runs on the console’s real-time clock, which is why the hours are measured in island time rather than in a fixed universal schedule.
Why some guides list 5 a.m. instead
Published visitor schedules have not always agreed. The table below sets out what each source says and how much weight it carries.
| Source | Date | Celeste’s listed hours | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Life, “Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Celeste Times & Zodiac Furniture Recipes Complete List” (Austin Voigt) | January 22, 2026 | 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. | The most recent of the sources consulted; gives the window used in this article. |
| iMore, visitor guide covering Redd, Celeste, Flick, C.J., Kicks and other special characters | Date not stated in the source | 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. | An older schedule. The one-hour difference is at the end of the window, so it matters only if you are checking shortly before 5 a.m. |
| Nintendo Support, “Why Am I Missing this Visitor, Event, or Activity on My Island?” | Date not stated in the source | Not published | Confirms the console clock governs island visitors and that visitors can be irregular. It does not give Celeste’s exact hours. |
Because Nintendo does not publish Celeste’s exact hours, the 4 a.m. end time comes from third-party guidance. If Celeste has not appeared by 4 a.m. on a clear night, the older 5 a.m. schedule is the only reason to keep looking, and it is not confirmed by Nintendo.

Does Celeste depend on a meteor shower announcement?
No. According to the Nintendo Life guide, Isabelle does not need to announce a meteor shower that morning for Celeste to visit that evening. Celeste and shooting stars are linked, but a visit from her does not guarantee that a shower has been announced.
Nintendo’s Play Nintendo guidance on wishing on stars puts it this way: “If you see Celeste, it’s a good sign you’ll see stars!” The page does not name an individual author, so attribute the line to Play Nintendo/Nintendo.

Why she may not show up
Nintendo Support states: “Many events and visitors are not tied to a set schedule.” Some visitors may not appear for weeks or longer. A missed night is therefore not evidence that something is broken. Work through these checks before assuming a problem:
- Confirm that the date and time on your Nintendo Switch are correct, since the island clock follows the console.
- Be on the island during the 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. window, and check on clear nights, which is the condition Nintendo Life associates with her appearance.
- Expect irregular visits. Keep checking over several nights rather than treating a single missed evening as a failure.
