Bring the fewest items that the specific concert allows, and prepare your ticket in the exact format the venue requires. The event page and ticket email are the controlling references: bag sizes, barcode behavior, prohibited items, screening, food and water allowances, re-entry, and accessibility procedures can change by venue or show.
Start with the event’s official instructions
Do not rely on a generic “concert checklist” as a rulebook. Read the venue’s current event page and your ticket email shortly before you leave. Official policies reviewed for major concert venues differ substantially, including on ordinary handbags, water bottles, outside food, ticket screenshots and re-entry.

- Confirm the date, doors or gate time and entrance. A concert can use different instructions from the venue’s standard policy, and some pages label operational details for a particular season.
- Check ticket delivery and entry requirements. Determine whether you need a venue or ticketing app, an account login, a rotating barcode or a ticket picked up at the venue.
- Measure any bag against the event’s stated dimensions. “Clear bag policy” does not mean every clear bag is accepted; some venues permit only a tiny clutch or make exceptions only for medical and diaper bags.
- Read the prohibited-item and food-and-drink sections. Look for restrictions on containers, cameras, recording equipment, umbrellas, outside refreshments and other accessories.
- Find the security and re-entry rules. Allow extra time for screening, and assume you cannot leave and return unless the event expressly says otherwise.
- Contact accessibility or ticket services before the show if you need accessible seating, a step-free entrance, assistive listening, sensory support or another accommodation.
These checks are more reliable than an older social-media post or a policy from a different venue.

Mobile entry and rotating barcodes
Some venues require a ticket displayed in a mobile app or account. Bethel Woods’ event guide, for example, describes SafeTix tickets with rotating barcodes; a static screenshot may not scan when the code refreshes. Open the ticketing app, sign in and load the ticket before leaving home. Keep the phone charged and make sure each person’s ticket can be retrieved without depending on a weak venue signal. Bethel Woods’ event guide identifies its event-specific ticket and entry instructions.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Screenshots and printouts may be rejected
Martin Marietta Center states that digital tickets are used there and that screenshots and print-at-home tickets are not accepted. Its instructions point guests to the approved digital-ticket process rather than a paper substitute. Check Martin Marietta Center’s current guide if that is your venue.
Other venues provide their own app-access or account-retrieval options. 313 Presents’ visit information explains how guests access tickets for its venues, while T-Mobile Arena’s A–Z guide includes ticket-pickup requirements. Those procedures are not interchangeable. 313 Presents visit information and the T-Mobile Arena A–Z guide should be checked for the exact show.
Before you travel
- Sign in while you still have reliable internet and open the ticket at least once.
- Update the ticketing app if the venue requires it, and bring identification if the event or pickup instructions call for it.
- Charge the phone; a power bank is useful only if the venue permits it.
- Do not assume a screenshot, forwarded image or printed copy is valid when the venue says the barcode must be live in the approved app.
Bag rules: compare the actual dimensions
There is no universal concert bag allowance. The examples below show why you must use the policy for your event, not a rule remembered from another arena.
| Venue example | Published allowance or restriction | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Colonial Life Arena | Clear bag up to 12 × 6 × 12 inches; a one-gallon clear bag; or a small clutch up to 4.5 × 6.5 inches. | These are the dimensions stated in its “Know Before You Go” policy. Other item and screening rules still apply. |
| Bethel Woods | Clear bag up to 12 × 12 × 6 inches or a clutch up to 5.5 × 8.5 inches. | The page is an event-specific guide and includes details identified for 2026; recheck it for a later date. |
| 313 Presents venues | Only very small bags are allowed under the published policy. | Medical and diaper-bag exceptions are addressed separately; do not treat the small-bag rule as a measurement that applies to every venue. |
| Santander Arena | Bag restrictions are listed in its FAQ. | Use the arena’s current dimensions and exception process rather than a clear-bag size from another venue. |
A small clear bag can be practical only when its measurements fit the event policy. Some venues reject ordinary purses even when they are transparent, while others allow a specified clutch. Measure the outside of the packed bag, including bulging pockets, and leave room for inspection.
Medical and parenting exceptions
Do not guess how to bring medication, medical equipment, pumps or supplies for a child. 313 Presents identifies medical and diaper-bag exceptions, and other venues may require a separate inspection or advance contact. Colonial Life Arena also publishes procedures covering accessibility and venue entry. Read its current guest instructions and contact the venue if your item does not fit the normal allowance.

An exception is permission to bring a necessary item, not a blanket waiver of screening. Arrive early enough for staff to inspect the contents and verify the need.
Items commonly restricted at concerts
Official venue policies reviewed for concerts restrict or regulate several categories. The exact list belongs to your event page, but these are the areas to check first:
- Weapons and defensive items: Do not bring weapons or other prohibited defensive devices.
- Recording equipment: Professional cameras, detachable lenses, audio recorders and other production gear may be barred even when a phone camera is allowed. Artist-specific restrictions can be stricter than the venue’s ordinary policy.
- Outside food and drink: Many venues restrict outside refreshments and containers. Santander Arena’s FAQ addresses outside food and drink directly; Bethel Woods’ guide describes its own food and water allowances. Santander Arena FAQ and Bethel Woods’ event guide are examples, not universal permissions.
- Oversized or unsuitable containers: Hard-sided cases, large bottles and accessories that slow inspection may be prohibited.
- Other event-specific items: Umbrellas, signs, selfie sticks, lasers and similar accessories may appear on a venue or artist’s prohibited list. Check the exact wording instead of assuming a neighboring show uses the same policy.
If an item is essential for a medical, dietary or parenting reason, contact guest services before arrival. Staff can tell you what documentation, packaging or inspection is expected.
Security screening, timing and leaving the venue
Allow time for screening
Expect a bag check, magnetometer or other screening step. Colonial Life Arena’s “Know Before You Go” information and Seattle Mariners’ concert FAQ both describe security procedures and entry requirements. Colonial Life Arena security guidance and the Seattle Mariners concert FAQ show why arriving at the posted gate time may not mean walking directly to your seat.
Keep prohibited items out of the car and avoid packing “just in case” objects. A bag that needs repeated unpacking can delay you and the people behind you.

Do not assume re-entry
Several venues expressly prohibit re-entry, including Colonial Life Arena, 313 Presents venues and Santander Arena. Once you leave, you may not be allowed back in, even if you still have a valid ticket. Colonial Life Arena, 313 Presents and Santander Arena publish those restrictions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBethel Woods publishes event-specific re-entry information rather than a rule you can apply elsewhere. Read the guide for your date and ask staff before exiting. If you need medication, a meal, a smoking break or a mobility-related adjustment, resolve the plan before the ticket is scanned.
Food, water and payment planning
Food and water allowances vary by event. Bethel Woods’ guide sets out its own water and food instructions, while other venues may prohibit outside drinks or limit containers. Do not carry a bottle simply because another concert permitted one. Check whether an allowed bottle must be sealed, empty or a particular type; if the page does not answer your question, contact guest services.
Some event guides also identify cashless payment or other transaction rules. Bethel Woods’ 2026 guide, for example, includes cashless-payment information. Treat that as a dated operational detail and verify it again for future events rather than assuming every venue is cashless.
Arrange accessibility before the show
Accessibility works best when arranged with the venue instead of improvised at the gate. Ask about the specific event, seating inventory and entrance route before purchasing or as soon as you know you need help.

Seating and entrances
Venues may provide accessible seating, step-free entrances and ticket assistance. Colonial Life Arena lists accessible seating and entrance information, and Seattle Mariners’ concert FAQ explains how to obtain accessible ticket support. Colonial Life Arena accessibility information and the Seattle Mariners concert FAQ provide venue-specific contact paths.
Hearing, visual and sensory support
Ask whether the venue offers assistive listening devices, captioning, sign-language interpretation or visual support for the event. Availability can depend on the performance and advance notice.
Santander Arena’s FAQ describes sensory bags and weighted lap pads available at no cost through its guest-services process, as well as assistive listening devices. That is an example of venue-provided support, not a promise that another arena offers the same equipment. Review Santander Arena’s accessibility FAQ and request the service directly from your venue.
What to tell guest services
- The event date and ticket order, if you already have one.
- The accommodation you need, such as a wheelchair space, companion seat, transfer assistance, sensory support or an assistive-listening device.
- Any medical or parenting item that requires a bag-policy exception.
- Whether you need an accessible route from parking, transit or the main entrance.
Ask for the venue’s recommended arrival point and whether the accommodation must be reserved, collected at guest services or requested on site.
A practical packing plan
After checking the event page, reduce your load to items that are both necessary and clearly permitted:

- Weather-appropriate clothing that does not include restricted accessories.
Leave weapons, outside refreshments, professional recording equipment and questionable containers at home unless the official event policy explicitly permits them. If you cannot verify an item, contact the venue before traveling.
Quick answers to common concert questions
What can I bring to a concert?
Bring your valid ticket in the required format, identification when required, essential medication and only items listed as permitted by the event’s current policy. Prohibited-item lists differ by venue and artist.
What size bag can I bring?
There is no universal size. Published examples range from Colonial Life Arena’s 12 × 6 × 12-inch clear bag allowance to Bethel Woods’ 12 × 12 × 6-inch clear bag allowance, while 313 Presents permits only very small bags with stated exceptions. Use your event’s measurements.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Can I bring a water bottle?
Only if the event policy allows that type of bottle and states the required condition. Bethel Woods publishes its own water guidance; another venue may restrict outside drinks.
Do I need to show my concert ticket on my phone?
Some venues require mobile entry, and some use barcodes that refresh. Others reject screenshots and print-at-home tickets. Follow the ticket email and venue page for your show.
Can I leave and re-enter?
Do not assume so. Colonial Life Arena, 313 Presents venues and Santander Arena prohibit re-entry, while other venues publish event-specific instructions. Ask before exiting.
How do I arrange accessible seating or accommodations?
Use the venue’s accessibility page or ticket/guest-services contact before the event. Explain the accommodation needed and ask about seating, entrances, sensory resources, hearing support and any medical-bag procedure for that performance.
