Before paying, confirm the exact CFI model on the console and invoice, whether a disc drive is included, the region match for disc-game DLC, the warranty and return terms where you live, and the unit’s power rating and plug. Then compare the full checkout cost—not just the sticker price. A Japanese-market PS5 Pro is sold as a digital-only console, so physical-game buyers need to budget for a compatible detachable disc drive.
1. Confirm the exact model and package
Ask the seller to confirm the model number on the actual console and put it on the invoice. Sony Store Japan lists the PS5 Pro as CFI-7000B01, while Sony’s Japan purchase information also identifies CFI-7100B01. The available product information does not establish a performance or reliability difference between those revisions, so do not infer one from the number alone.

Sony describes both Japan-market listings as a 2 TB, digital-only console. Sony Store Japan’s CFI-7000B01 package listing includes a controller, horizontal feet, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, printed materials, and Astro’s Playroom. The vertical stand and disc drive are separate. Confirm the contents of the seller’s specific package, particularly if it is open-box or used.
2. Decide whether you need a disc drive
The console does not include a disc drive. Sony says a compatible separately sold drive enables PS5 and PS4 game discs and movie discs. If you own physical games or watch movies on disc, include the drive’s cost in your budget and verify the exact accessory model and compatibility before ordering. If your library is all digital, you can use the console without one.

3. Check game and account regions before buying DLC
Sony says disc games must be licensed for the same country or region as the account for related DLC and in-game currency to work. Sony also says a PlayStation Network account’s country or region cannot be changed after creation. Before purchasing add-ons, codes, or region-specific content, check the game’s licensed region and the account you intend to use.
Do not assume every Japan-market PS5 has the same language or account restrictions. Sony’s Japanese-language-only support notice specifically describes a separate product called the PS5 Digital Edition Japanese-language-only; it should not be treated as a general statement about PS5 Pro. If Japanese system-language support or account use is a concern, confirm the precise box/model designation with the seller and ask Sony about that unit.
Sony Japan’s PSN terms say Japan residents use the Japanese PlayStation Store and that Sony does not guarantee operation for certain overseas services, content, or discs. Buyers outside Japan should check local account and payment options and service support rather than assume that every service will work simply because the console itself can be set up.
4. Get warranty and returns in writing
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan’s warranty terms provide a one-year warranty for a new PS5 or PS5 Pro in Japan. The terms require proof showing the purchase date, store, and product. That does not establish that a Japanese warranty will be honored where you live. Before buying across borders, ask Sony support for your destination country and the retailer—in writing—whether service is available there, what proof is required, and who handles a return or repair.
For an open-box or used console, confirm whether any manufacturer warranty remains and what the retailer’s own return window covers. Ask for clear photos of the console’s model and serial label, and a list or photos of the included accessories.

5. Verify voltage, plug, and accessory fit
Sony’s CFI-71XX PS5 Pro safety guide lists 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz and 390 W maximum rated power. Check the rating label on the actual unit and the supplied cord: the cited specification covers a model family, and the plug shape and local electrical requirements are separate from voltage compatibility. If you are unsure whether the cord or plug is suitable for your destination, confirm the safe setup with Sony or a qualified local source before connecting the console.
If you plan to reuse PS5 accessories, check Sony’s compatibility guide against the exact accessory model. PS5 Pro supports a compatible covered disc drive and vertical stand, but not CFI-1000 slim covers, CFI-2000 slim cover sets, or the original PS5 base.
6. Compare the complete offer
