A Sync button that is unavailable or rejected inside the Soul Binding screen is an equipment-eligibility problem; repeated disconnects or an inability to reach an AION 2 server are connection problems. They require different troubleshooting paths, and a network step cannot be assumed to repair an in-game Soul Binding action.
For an equipment failure, record the exact operation, item, material, selected property and complete message before trying anything else. For a connection failure, use the official AION 2 Global support troubleshooting flow and provide the country, start date and ISP information it requests if the basic steps do not solve the issue.

Start by identifying the failed action
“Soul Binding or Sync failed” can describe several different screens. The wording matters because Aion 2 treats Bind, Sync and Reset/Rebind as separate operations. A message shown while selecting gear or material belongs to the equipment path. A message about a server, login, timeout or disconnection belongs to the connection path.

Equipment operation or network connection?
- Equipment path: you are in the Soul Binding interface and the action is greyed out, rejected, or produces an error after you select an item, property or material.
- Connection path: the client cannot connect to a server, repeatedly disconnects, or fails before you can use the Soul Binding interface.
- Transfer path: you are moving progression effects to different gear. Transfer or inheritance is not the same action as Sync.
Do not apply a server-connection remedy to an operation-specific error, and do not treat a failed inheritance result as evidence of what happens when Sync fails. The available documentation does not establish a universal repair for a failed Bind or Sync message.

Capture the evidence before changing anything
Take a screenshot or write down the complete error text, not just the first line. Also record the character and server, the item slot, equipment grade, item level if shown, the exact button pressed, the property selected for Sync, the material name and grade, and whether the button was unavailable or failed after confirmation. This information lets support distinguish an eligibility rejection from a client or server error without guessing.
Know what each Soul Binding button does
Confirm the operation name and read the confirmation warning every time. Source descriptions use slightly different labels, but they agree on the scope of each action.

Because Reset and Rebind naming varies between guides, the live client’s confirmation dialog should control your decision. Cancel if the warning describes a wider change than you intended.

Step-by-step checks when Sync fails
- Open the correct interface. Return to the Soul Binding screen for the target item and verify that the button says Sync, not Bind or Reset/Rebind. A reroll of one line is a different action from changing every line.
- Check the target item. Confirm the item is the intended piece, its grade is visible, and the current client allows it to be used with Sync. The published guides do not provide a complete, version-independent eligibility table, so an item that qualified in an earlier patch may not be accepted now.
- Select one property. Sync is described as rerolling a selected property. If no line is selected, or the selected line is not eligible in the current interface, the action may remain unavailable. Make sure the highlighted property is the one you are willing to replace.
- Check the input material. Sync is described as requiring equipment of the required grade or a dedicated Sync material. Compare the material’s name and grade with the requirement shown in the current UI. Do not assume that an item of a similar appearance or a lower grade is interchangeable.
- Read the displayed success chance. The Corpus guide reports that material grade and item level affect the chance shown for Sync. Treat the number displayed for your target and material as the applicable value; do not substitute a figure from a guide, another region or an earlier patch. The available material guides do not publish a complete eligibility matrix.
- Review the final warning. Before confirming, verify the target, selected property, material and resulting scope. If the dialog describes all properties being changed, you are on Reset/Rebind rather than a one-property Sync.
- Stop if the visible requirements are met but the action still fails. Keep the screenshot and notes. The reviewed documentation does not establish that retrying, relogging, editing files or changing another setting reliably repairs an operation-specific Sync error. Repeated attempts can also consume materials if an action actually starts, so do not keep confirming blindly.
Why a chance can change
A displayed chance is not a guarantee of success. According to the Corpus guide, both material grade and item level influence that displayed chance. The practical implication is to re-check the value after changing either input and to document the exact combination when contacting support. No authoritative source in the available material supplies a universal percentage or a promise that a particular grade always succeeds.
If Bind is unavailable or rejected
Bind is for improving values already present on the item. It is not a way to choose a different property. Verify that you are using the Bind control, that the target is the intended item and that the interface accepts the required input. If the client presents a warning that describes replacing or randomizing properties, cancel and return to the operation selector; that warning belongs to a broader action.
There is no documented, operation-specific repair procedure for a Bind failure in the available official and guide material. Capture the exact state and send it to support rather than presenting a speculative cause as fact.

Do not confuse Sync with Reset or Rebind
Sync changes one selected property, while Reset/Rebind randomly changes all properties. Some guides use “Reset” and others use “Rebind,” and their descriptions are not identical in every detail. That naming difference is a reason to trust the in-game confirmation text over a remembered menu path.

Once a broad operation has been confirmed, the available material does not document a general undo process, so check the scope before spending the material.
When every visible requirement is satisfied
If the target, property, material and displayed chance are accepted by the current interface but Sync still returns an error, treat it as unresolved rather than inventing a fix. The NC/PURPLE Lounge Soul Binding post, dated October 5, 2026, identifies itself as AI-generated and warns that it may differ from actual game content. The Wiki and Corpus guides are secondary references; Corpus is dated October 4, 2026. They can help explain the controls, but none supplies a guaranteed remedy for an operation-specific failure.

Submit the collected details through the official support channel. Include the full message, screenshots, character and server, item and grade, selected property, material and grade, displayed chance, the client region, and the approximate time of the attempt. State whether the button was disabled before confirmation or whether the game consumed an input and then returned an error. That distinction is more useful to support than a general statement that “Soul Binding is broken.”

Use this path only when the problem concerns access to an AION 2 server or a repeated loss of connection. The official AION 2 Global support result addresses those symptoms separately from Soul Binding. Follow its basic troubleshooting steps first. If they do not resolve the issue, the support page asks for three specific pieces of context:
- your current country;
- when the problem began; and
- your internet service provider (ISP).
Add the exact connection or disconnection message, the server or region you selected, and whether the failure happens before login or during play. If you can reach the game menus, note whether Soul Binding fails only after a disconnect or also during a stable session; that helps separate a connectivity report from an equipment-operation report.

Do not claim that a connection reset, relog or file change repairs Sync unless official support confirms it for your specific error. The connection guidance is about reaching and remaining on a server; it does not document the eligibility rules for a Soul Binding material.
Transfer and inheritance are a separate system
AION 2’s Season 2 announcement, dated January 21, 2026, describes expanded Soul Binding options, additional Sync slots and a new Transfer system: “These include expanded Soul Binding options, additional Sync slots, and the new Transfer system.” Transfer moves certain equipment-progression effects, including Soul Binding effects, to new gear. It should not be used as another name for Sync.
A third-party-hosted update-note page describes an inheritance failure in which the target remains unchanged while materials are consumed. That rule belongs to inheritance or Transfer. Do not report it as the documented result of a failed Sync attempt, because the available material does not establish that the two actions share failure behavior.
Patch and region changes can alter the screen
Soul Binding has changed across updates, and Season 2 added more Sync capacity and Transfer. As a result, button names, slot counts, eligible grades and warnings can be patch-sensitive. Compare the current client’s labels and requirements with any guide you consult, and record your game version or update context in a support ticket.
The NC/PURPLE Lounge explanation is useful as a lead but explicitly cautions that it is AI-generated. The official Season 2 announcement confirms feature expansion but does not diagnose failed actions. When those descriptions differ, use the live interface and official support response for your region and version.
A concise decision checklist
- Server message or disconnect: follow the AION 2 Global connection-support procedure and provide country, start date and ISP if its basic steps fail.
- Sync button disabled: verify target eligibility, selected property, required grade or dedicated material, and the current displayed chance.
- Sync returns an error after confirmation: stop repeated attempts, preserve the full message and submit the operation details to official support.
- Warning mentions every property: cancel unless you intentionally chose Reset/Rebind.
- Moving effects to new gear: use the Transfer or inheritance instructions; do not infer Sync behavior from an inheritance failure.
This process cannot guarantee a successful reroll, but it prevents the most damaging mistake—confirming the wrong operation—and gives support the precise information needed to investigate an unexplained failure.
